Well it helps if you have electronic soldering flux, throw some of that on the braid/ solder joint you want to remove and it helps A LOT with heat transfer to melt the solder along with encouraging it to wick into the braid. when dealing with these professionaly made products I have found without flux it hard to get enough heat on the solder without damaging the board.
