  • Looking at these tropical country's threw the eyes of a tourist or through "rose tinted"glasses just obscures what life is really like for the folks that have to live there, some are living in real poverty.

A lot of people from Barbados, Jamaica etc whom now live in the UK naturally have great memories of home but sadly when they try to retire there all they find is people trying to get money off them. Also many come back due to increasing huge medical bills, which can ruin the wealthiest person.

  • speramo de acchiappà le turiste olandesi o americane. Buon Anno 2011 dalle Barbados, se ce la faccio a ritornà vivo.

  • qué lindoooooo!!

  • one day I want to go there :-)

  • @TheWackyBird huh? oh yes America is weird you guys love to argue over small issues, You would be cool no one here cares about race

  • I love Barbados, such an amazing place. I spent 10days there and made some local friends and had a blast. As far as racism goes, the white american tourists who think they can order everyone around like servants are more the racist ones (i can say that do to the fact i am a white american). Everything is in "island time" haha 1 american minute is equal to like 30 barbados minutes, so don't expect anything to get done too hastily. Its so beautiful there, a piece of my heart is there.

  • BIM is just gorgeous!! no where like it.

  • 5 people can't afford to go. Anyways i went there and was so curious about everything. I wish i was from barbados. :P

  • @TheWackyBird .."Wow people have time for that negative stuff." Damn i'm glad i don't see color's i see people.

  • thanks for the vid in the center theres enough of the beach. thanks again for everyday living in the center.

  • awwww swan street. what day of the week was this?

  • ah yes, straight down swan street, then broad street, then cross the bridge... man i miss home

  • i am DYING to go back to my home land BIM.

  • wuju paradise!!!

  • @TheWackyBird i am white and i am from Barbados you will absolutely be welcomed in Barbados as a white person. Racism is hard to avoid anywhere you go and it certainly exists in Barbados however that doesn't stop the thousands of white tourists who visit every year. people are generally friendly. As a tourist you shouldnt have any problems especially seeing as our economy depends so much on tourism people are very friendly to tourists. racism usually goes both ways anywhere you go

  • @TheWackyBird Oh hush up, that's so stereotypical, you are not hated by blacks in America...Yes you are welcome in Barbados because we're used to the tourists and such. You'll be fine.

  • i want to go

  • Man it looks really hot there, just by the first minute of the video! I fear my pasty white English skin would burn up!!

  • Continued ... a beautiful country with lovely people. That's all that matters.

  • I'm Canadian and return to Barbados every year with my family, it is our second home. We love shopping on Swan Street and we love the Barbadian people. They are people just like everywhere else in the world, only much nicer. I don't understand some of the stupid comments on here about the Barbadian people being/feeling free or being black or white. The days of slavery are long gone in civilized countries. The black or white question would only be an issue if you were a racist. Barbados is

  • Oh Man Thanks ,for showing dis wish I was back home now.

Ya mek ma home sick ya love this.Great job .

  • Thanks for this video. I'm an Amateur Radio operator here in Australia & just minutes ago spoke for about 30 mins to an Amateur Operator located in Bridgetown, Barbados. So I was interested to see where I was talking to. Looks like a very exciting place. He was saying how the weather there has been a bit too hot lately! I'll have to add Bridgetown onto my list of "Places to try and get to"!

  • @panamanubian do the black people in this video look like they have chains tying them up? for real?

  • @beautifulgooal I dont know, I was trying to ask, are black people in Barbados free from colonial mentality? That was my question, but I guess I missed the last part, Did you really need to answer me that way? maybe you should have asked me, what I was talking about? or in which way was I referring to "free".

  • @panamanubian i apologize for my answer, i have not been there but at the same time i think they might have different mentality from african americans who are still living along side whites in large quantity.

  • How much's a good cheap room for rent in Barbados?

  • @chiflamico you can rent a room in a house for $20 - $30US if you know what you are doing.I've seen self contained appartments in guest houses for $50US (bajan flamingo house) It was very nice, came with a 3 piece bathroom, a kitchenette with everything but an oven, two beds, cable tv, a porch, I think AC was an extra $5US/night. It was clean, and on a quiet street, but a 10 minute walk from a beautiful active beach, and a 15 minute walk from a main clubbing district.

  • I love Barbados!!!! I am half bajan. I love Barbados, it is a beautiful place!!! GO THERE!
