Morgana sounds magical & combination of Morgana & Andy is inspired and sublime turning "Corcovado" inside out creating a stunning vocal masterpiece. Bravo Morgana & Andy!
Morgana's Classical vocal training brings a down-hearted "ethereal" feeling to the Brazilian beat of Corcovado. She sings in mezza voce without sounding operatic at all; the freedom attained through her training makes possible her dazzling improvisational vocal instrumentation in the duet, which is so breathtaking that Andy Williams cannot disguise his enjoyment. He even invites her back to the show. This is certainly a "classic". Thanks for posting it.
For all you Morgana fans out there: Sony/Legacy released a cd of the 1964 Lp "A Taste Of Honey" back in 1991. Unfortunately this song and Lazy Afternoon are not on it. I wonder why. In place of Corcovado there is a nice version of Meditation instead. The cd is very hard to find as it has been out of print for sometime. I agree with all of you Corcovado and Lazy Afternoon should have been on the cd. However, I just checked and the entire album is available for MP3 download on Rhapsody.
Some time ago I contacted Tamara Shad who produced the 1991 Mainstream reissue of "A Taste Of Honey" and asked her about Morgana's remaining Mainstream recordings that were not included on the CD ("Lazy Afternoon", "Corcovado", etc). Apparently someone (not Morgana) holds the copywrite for the tracks and they wouldn't make them available for reissue on CD.
She is the boss of bossa nova and every other genre.

She looks so much younger here than as Mama Corleone in The Godfather Parts I and II.
