  • whos choreography is this? if its yours.. wot grade you get? wot kinda trainin you get whilst in university dance courses?

  • Its a mixture of my lecturers and my class's choreography. I got a 2.1 for process and performance. This was in my first year- im in my final year now. It depends which uni you go to on the training you get- Id say that the audition says alot for the place and if anything seems dodge- thats probably the way its gonna be. Drop me a message if you're thinking of places to train

  • not bad. good use of groups and eventhough the music is a little too simple you keep creating good moves. the solo boy doing acrobatics across the floor is not a great idea. it looks like rythm gymnastics. . a good future ahead. thanks for sharing.

  • that was so funny hi hazel!

  • Wow, that was REALLY Martha Graham style!!

    =D (y)

Martha Graham seems nasty, ever watched an interview of her?

    nice work..

  • This is amazing! The shapes made by the dancers are all angled perfectly, so congrats, beautiful work!

  • Saw them dance Isabella last night at Stanwix Theatre - just fantastic. A tribute to the choreographer and the dancers, a rare treat to see the hard work of the students in action. Thanks for the opportunity.

  • how very technologic. i see the boundaries were pushed when choreographing this dance ;]

  • Wow! This was cool. Where do you study?

  • University of Cumbria. USed to be Cumbria Institute of the Arts. Its not bad. lol.

    -x-

  • omg dis dance is soooooooo good.wot is the song or music called? w/b

  • im pretty sure its chemical brothers. x

  • wow that was awessssome !!!!!!

  • How mezmerizing! I love how you mixed old technique with modern music and amazing dancing and choreography. Did you guys perform in front of a live audience? I hope so...I'm sure a live audience would love it as well. THANK YOU for sharing!

  • that was awesome!!! where is this?

  • Its in the dance studio at Uni in Carlisle. Cumbria Institute of the Arts. -x-

  • What is the name of the song? I really like this music. And the dancing is amazing.

  • its a chemical brothers song- cant remember the title though- sorry me dear. Cheers. x

  • I really loved this video! I esp liked the parnter work.

  • i don't know that much about dance like, merce, and graham and stuff, but i thought that was sooooo coool! i don't think i blinked

  • The Soap is either blind or just trying to be a pain- I saw a basic contraction and many elements of the Graham technique! I loved your lines :) brilliant choreography.

  • one of my dance teachers was a former student of martha graham and he uses her technique to teach us to keep our bodies aligned and how to proerly contract.... and in my class we do the same things... and i jsut wanted to say that this piece is very well coreographed

  • long story short, i used to be very closely intertwined with the martha graham dance company, and after watching the video, reading certain comments, i felt that i had to go above my opinion *which is that it does indeed posses elements of the graham technique*... so i emailed the video to Janet Eilber, the current artistic director of the company... she agreed with me.

Your whole class's dancing is beautiful brownling, and not everyone and their mother can train to dance as well as you.

  • Thank you very much for your comment. I'll let my class know. :-)

  • I can see the contraction and release technique, i can also see some lovely angular lines that compliment the martha graham technique :-)

  • Mm, well, I saw the graham company perform last saturday, and my teacher was in the company itself. I dont even see a basic contraction in this peice, let alone other qualities that Graham choreography posseses. Anyone and their mother can train at the school.

  • Look love, this video was put on here to show a few people what we do and share with a few friends, I couldn't give two tosses about what someone I dont even know has to say about it. Thanks very much for your interest.

  • Mmm, I didn't see any of the basic elements of the Graham technique in this.

  • seriously, there is, seeing as we had a teacher that has trained at the martha graham school of contemporary dance I would have thought she'd know what she was choreographing.

  • i think it is 10/10 stuff and im about to do my final major production and we are basing it on merce cunnigham well done wiked stuff and it deffiantly does have the graham technique ben xx

  • It's canny good like! lol :P

  • Ah the Martha Graham's technic : the classical one in conservatory.

  • It's definitely interesting! I really love the music.

  • Some very nice moments! The shoulder and arm isolations were a bit too "Bob Fosse" for me, but you really captured the Graham essence in certain passages. All the dancers were really good. Makes me wish I were in a college choregraphy class.
