yes, it is good for eye training and coordination, but do you fight like that in a semi controlled situation like in the padded?i doubt it if you can do that in semi real situation.will you stand in front of a bolo like that, oh man, brag this not to visayan like me.
Third March 2010 Cebu, Philippines. Grandmaster 11 DAN. Prudencio Ondo Caburnay was nominated Supreme Grandmaster 12 DAN. His official successor, Grandmaster 10 DAN. Giannuzzi Raoul was nominated, Grandmaster 11 DAN. Congratulations from the Lapunti Arnis De Abanico Federation (I.L.A.D.A.F)
Yes, it's for advance practitioners. This is to develop further blocking/prarying & counter attacks in a continuous pattern. The one you see, you may not notice, is a combination of about 3 patterns. The idea is pretty much the same with other martial arts; drill of their own. This is most useful during actual fight when you have to counter or respond quick against your opponent's attack. Unlike non-practitioners, they tend to stiff or move back or run away far in order to avoid the attack.

This drill looks dangerous even though it is practice. What is the focus and purpose of this drill and is it for advanced practitioners?

Tapi Tapi drill is a good training for eye & body coordination. . .it can be learnt starting from the very basic of it, up to the advance stages
