  • Ive seen Johnny A live he was 5 feet in front of me. His tone is incredible. The bass tone live is amazing also. This is his old drummer too. He was great.

  • @TangerineGroovin

    New drummer? When?

I've been waiting for him to come back to Austin, it's been almost two years.

  • Simply wonderful!

  • I was just listening to Johnny Cash's cover of this song on my mp3 player. Never was much of a Johnny Cash fan musically but one day I found his version of this song quite accidentally and fell in LOVE with it. Anyhow, I decided to do a Youtube search just now for Cash's version and found this beauty which, to me is in a very similar style as his. You were really blessed to be in the front row of this very moving performance. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us.

    All the best,

    Annette

This was a great night, and I felt very lucky indeed. It's my favorite version of this tune.

  • Wow! I'm not a country music fan, but, it goes to show you that GOOD music is Genre-less!!! This is one the best contemporary compositions and this man has made it even better!

Thank you for bringing back such a great song and for keeping the majestic electric guitar ever so majestic. God Bless!

  • I just added this to my favorites. NICE!

  • Sorry, I goofed; I think it is a Cadd9, not a C6!

  • Cmaj7 to Cmaj9

  • Or, did J. Webb originally compose it as you are playing it? I only know the G. Campbell version...

  • Respectfully submitted, I think your second chord should be a C6.

  • i think this is at the turning point in peirmont

  • This was taped at Threadgill's in Austin, Tx...I couldn't believe I got front row seats for $10.

    He's my current favorite guitarist!

  • thank you so much for posting this!

  • A really beautiful version of the song, it really makes you think of a lonely lineman out in the blazing hot sun, loved it!

  • Thank you so much, sminchk67!

Johnny's guitar performance is very fantastic.

    Otaku^^

  • Johnny A is an amazing talent. I saw him on April 21 at the Guitar Show in Dallas. He gave a fabulous performance as usual but I was a little disappointed because he did not include this song in his set. Thanks for posting!
