@patthespark Until Henry VIII separated from the Catholic Church and became the Supreme Head of the Church of England, effectively making all contracts null and void and thus creating his own rights and rules. This is one of the main reasons why England was able to create an Empire because the vast amounts of money raised by the church and the selling off of church land went to Henry instead of the Pope in the Vatican.

@Collectiveknowledge yes, I've heard of codex alimentarius and all that jazz, but still nothing moving... and I'm afraid that by the time they come up with the full text to it and set it out towards adopting it will end up like ACTA... people are not stupid... our representatives are not stupid. It does not matter what was valid or not because after that point he is playing by his own rules and not those of the church. This is one of the reasons why England was able to create an empire, because the vast amounts of money that was being raised by the church was being diverted to Henry and the Monarchy and not the Pope in the Vatican.

@patthespark The Church of England is a part of Christianity not the Catholic Church. The title "defender of the Faith" was given to Henry VIII years before the Act of Supremacy. By separating the Church of England from the Roman Catholic Church Henry VIII effectively became the head of a Protestant nation. I should of said Sovereign not Crown.

@saderyt It is fine yeah, free travel within EU borders, the ability to work and be educated anywhere within the EU, cheap travel and cheap mobile costs across the whole area, war free zone, increased safety standards across the board, better infrastructure aided with EU funding in new member states. Not all members are part of the Eurozone it's not an existential threat like most would like to think. Fukushima is courtesy of TEPCO, a US firm and libya is thanks to the UK ;)
