And for the record, this definetly isn't a 1997 Maxima. This has got to be either a 1995 or 1996 Maxima. All Maxima's from 1997-1999 had reverse tail light. Red-on-yellow lights. Not yellow-on-red.
My pearlescent 1997 Nissan Maxima GLE has 190,000k on it. It runs like a dream! I wouldn't be doing ot it what these guys are doing. Mine came with all the available options except for heated seats. I have to cahnge the radio as well, because the cd/tape players won't work anymore. Easy prob to fix. I need to get the windows retinted too! Its hot here in Central California! :D But this car is amazing. I can't believe they last so long.

And third, that engine could still kick the shit out of what you drive even shitty.
I'm not sure about the version you were released in America (I'm presuming you're american?) but the Australian Maxima had very few options available, and was shared by the same demographic as the humble Toyota Camry. Nothing special.

Alloy wheels, a power sunroof, Bose sound system, white faced gauges, leather, heated seats, power seats, a power antenna, digital and climate controlled air conditioning, obviously a CD player, fog lamps, spoiler, cruise control, tilt, power mirriors, p.locks, p.windows, keyless entry, SE's had tuned suspension. They drive amazing, really smooth and fluid.
Also for the record, I drive a 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V. Say what you want. It's amazing. And my Mom still has our "Super Black" 97' Maxima SE with all options except heated seats. Bought it brand new and kept it because it hasn't had shit for problems. Only has 94k on it. My parents also had a 97' Pathfinder they bought brand new, but they traded it in.
AND, i'll have to see what a 91' Commodore is, haha.
My maxima had 230k on the stock engine before i blew the main bearing :D (But I was being dumb with it) It now has a 20k de-k engine with a rebuild 20k< mile tranny :} this car is going to last a while :o
