Well I'm guessing why the sound is so hollow is because they had mics placed everywhere and weren't plugged into the soundboard.

So when Tomas and the rest pull away when doing that, they can get the audience singing along with it showing how fucking awesome Streetlight shows are.

Tom wasn't the greatest singer whilst in catch 22, but when he started Streetlight Manifesto and Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, he got much better. But the shittiness of the vocals is also due to the shittiness of the recording studio where Catch 22 recorded Keasbey Nights. And, Catch 22 is still an ongoing band, they came to Toronto a few months ago, my buddy went and saw them.

Catch-22 didn't split up. They've had many, many members leave and join the band in the past 10 years. Tom was the first big member to leave, back in like 1999. He then formed the Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution and Streetlight Manifesto with old members of Catch-22 and One Cool Guy (another great NJ Ska band). Catch-22 is still an ongoing band, with Kevin at the lead. Kevin is Streetlight's tour manager, from what I've heard.

Tom Kalkony (singer) was in Catch 22 but had "differences with the other members of the band, so he left and re-recorded Keasbey Nights with the Streetlight Manifesto Guys. Obviously, he held the copyright to the music, and was the musical genuis of Catch 22 because of the shiitiness of them since he left.

Tom was catch's weak point... I don't know what everyone is talking about. Tom's voice isn't great, it's a whole lot better now, that's why I like Streetlight more. The guitar in Catch before keasbey nights was better, too. Ever hear the solo in Wine Stained Lips? Not only that but the recording studio for Catch 22's Keasbey Nights was really bad.
