  • Oh my gosh! I was so tired after that!

Tenor Drum. All the way on the far side. (That's the Right side if you were thinking about it from the performers POV.)

I loved how afterward people were all like 'Want to Trade Pins?!' And we were all like 'Well, I don't got pins, but you can have my skirt!' and they were all like 'OMG REALLY THANK YOU!'

    xD

    We really hated those skirts.

    :D

  • i have one of them right now! :D

    you guys were so cool!

    -AUSD band, flute.

  • Haha. I gave away a bunch of my stuff for nothing just to get rid of it.

Mostly because I didn't want to pack it to bring it back.

It was like 'Who can get rid of their uniform first?'

And someone asked our top bass for her shirt. It was really funny.

  • Sorry, the one before this was me. I didn't know my sister was signed it.

  • lol me and my friends(roommates) were like "I HAVE to get a Hawaii pin"....but i didn't...but it's really sad for me cause I love Hawaii!!!!!! I want to learn to surf, and cheer for Hawaii Pacific....to say the least, i was sad :( if you get more let me know!!! I hope our next band trip is to Hawaii, couse upperclassmen got to go! OR i am in the Liberty High School Grenadier Band btw

  • Mr. Payton works his magic again.. You guys sounded AWESOME!!

  • TROMBONES RULED!!!!

that was so much fun i would so do this parade all over again!!

    we sounded and looked insane!!!

    Mr. Payton WE LOVE YOU!!!

    from the BIG ISLAND

we couldnt have done this without you!!

  • I was the alto sax boy they had a close up on during bula as we performers know it as but to other people "Drums of the island"...the song after "TASI LUA TOLU FA!"

  • i love our horn pop during Bula.

  • haha!!

    i see darin!

  • I played flute in the last row

  • im glade to see that my uncle mike was able to create such a beautiful routine

  • Every trip that I went on with Mr. Payton was a mad success. He is the man and will be sorely missed in the marching band arena. There are some mighty big shoes to fill and hopefully someone is up to filling them. Daryl? Like Hawaii Public Radio Said about Mr Payton, he is a "Marching band Legend". We love you and Mike and Doreen!

  • Agreed. Whole-heartedly. <3

  • i was the FRENCH HORN player at 1:28 next to the taller alto sax guy..

    (french horns ROCK)

  • Suuuure Kiana. Suuuuuuure. ;D

  • :Hugs everyone in HASMB: I miss it already... I keep thinking about all those breakfasts we were hating on each other and now that it's over everyone is like, "Omg I love you! D:" Lol. I agree Mark, we were Fantastic. This is the best video of the parade. Thank you KTLA. Man I'm about to cry... I want to go back...

  • Good Job Everyone. We were Fantastic!

  • we did it! hellz yeaaaaaaaaa.

  • i was the log drum on the right end. congrats guys, WE DID IT!

  • YAYYY, WE DID IT. This is the most fun I've ever had twirling a flag. I twirled the blue flag in the middle, 2:29. I would never trade this experience for another one. I absolutely loved it. ^______________^

  • Tenor Sax! Woo

I'm gonna miss Papa Payton. x]

  • mmm yess i loved this.

lol. i was 4th Bass Drum.. PERC Rocks. :]

  • TASI, LUA, TOLU, FA!!!

Oh gosh...I'd march this all over again if I could have stayed there longer.

IF ANYONE FROM THIS BAND IS OUT THERE TELL ME!

Thanks to all who made this band possible!

  • HEY U GUYS ARE BACK!!!

    HOW WAS IT?!?!?!

  • Hmm... Let's just say I wanna go back!

  • if any Hawaii band member sees this, and want to bond with a band member from the Alhambra all city band, message me cuz I really liked you guys :]]]

  • i find it insanely funny that they play traditional marching music in those uniforms. i LOVE their uniforms though. THANKS guy who traded his grass skirt for my AUSD pin :]]]

  • LOLOL. XD I loved all of you guys that took our skirts.

  • My band loved all you guys who were willing to trade skirts and wrist and head gear for pins xDDD

(you guys had an advantage in that. we can't trade anything from our uniforms XD)!

  • Lol yeah that was so much fun! There was one dude from Homewood walking around with a skirt around his shoulders, one around his waist, and a tahitian hat. It was so funny. x3

And one of our flute players scored a USC jacket because a guy left it behind. Jealous! :D

  • LOL XDD I was doing that too, except I only had a grass skirt :< xD That's insanely funny to picture XD

... Seriously?! ... That's kinda... LOLXD Stinks for him! He's gonna have to pay for that one :O Cuz those things are pretty expensive x_X

  • Thank you whoever traded me your green head-thing for my pin. ^^

  • lols its called a haku

  • I was in BYUHC's PCC Brass Band (waay back in the day) and we used to play this as we marched around PCC 6 days a week...

  • Hi Miss is Heide in the front??? This looks lyk fun...

  • Really, me too! Who is "CoolReign"? PCC Brass Band was awesome!

  • Sweet memories. I was in Kahuku's Marching Band 89-93 and these are the songs we played. Now they are being used for the All State Band!

  • its because payton was in charge of the music, but he announced his retirement on our last day of the trip, im so sad (happy for him though, i think he's sick of us :q)

  • I think Payton has retired like 10 times. LOL. Hard to believe he is still shaping young band members so many years later. :) I doubt he is sick of any of it. He loves it.

  • well he might love it, but he is retiring now he said it was for good this time. I was in this parade... the first row of yellow shirts, i have long brown hair and play a tenor saxophone.

  • I wish the best to him in retirement!

  • yeah, he made it very clear that it was for real. most of the times before he was doing it to protect his medical coverage, but now he says that his body is saying no. Ive learned soooo much from him, and im going to miss having him around.

  • Sweet uniforms. They sound excellent! 5*
