You are NOT supposed to press water out of your fresh hash. It can break the trichromes and release the cannibinoids into the water to be lost.

Best to let the hash dry naturally or let something absorb the water. Be gentle with it.

My friends used to make the exact same hash with male plants using only the bubble bag system and a wooden spoon. It did the same job in two hours and the product is brown, compact and really concentrated. It's not necessary to use all these techniques it may even be negative as it may easily fail for beginners and compromise the final quality of the product.

Great Video! It seems to me that if you mix the batch in a seperate container you will lose out. All the trichomes sink to the bottom of the can and have no time to efficiently "bubble in to the other baggs. The idea of pumping the water into the 5gal bags seems great but, in my opinion, doesn't give enough time to collect the trichomes even w/the second rinse. Can anyone please shine a light on this...enlighten me...please. I'm a lil' confused with this method????

@aaronr71 I agree, I haven't seen the usage of a pump before. the problem with these pumps is that they leave a thin layer of water at the bottom. if the trichs are sinking, then the pump isn't picking up a good portion of the trichs. that's why i've always seen it emptied out. to make it easier they could do the mixing on a higher level, drain and then empty. i don't trust that pump. also look up the gumby method which makes a lot of sense. also, the trich size is not at all important.

Thanks for the response. I really like this mehod as i'm not able to lift "bubble bags" to drain. I am just concerend that with the seperate washing bucket you lose tichs.I've asked an old chemistry professor and he reasured me that if the water is kept at freezing or below, you will only lose what gets trapped in the pump. He said that the pump eliminates the need for holding bags in the air & waiting for gravity to take over. I am still hesitant to try this method. As for the "gumby" method, we use to call that "bucket hash". I am aware of this style. However, the bags offer different grades. Three of which are incredible for my condition. Also bags offers another grade that is great for "space cakes" that work wonders for chronic pain! I will try this style of extraction one day...

You should consider edible cannabis products. The way they are metabolized, you only receive the pain relief effects which last up to 6 hours. My dad (58yrs) eats a COOKIE at night instead of taking xanax. He's gone off of many pain, anxiety, hypertension, etc. meds since he switched to cannabis.

Do yourself a favor and stop giving money to the pharma. companies. Your back will thank you.

bubblehash is wonderful for so so so many reasons-

including using a byproduct- trim- to make a new product- bubblehash- which is excellent for smoking as well as adding to edibles-

after making bubble- the leaf/trim can be rinsed and then made into butter- olive oil

a byproduct that keeps on giving- how beautifully green is that

U dont want to roll the hash with a rolling pin either. gently dab the hash in the blotting sheets then chop up the hash carefully while damp to avoid rupturing heads. at least so i hear .02

You should be careful with that rolling pin. It is possible when working with micro- encapsulated resin for you to trap water inside the concentrate that you can never get out. Imagine a micro droplet of water surrounded by resin glands bursting all around it and encasing the droplet. No matter how long you dry the concentrate, pressure- encased water doesn't escape. This water can then become rancid over time and create a bad taste, as well as affect the shelf life of your product.

It is for this reason I would advise breaking up the wet resin as best as you can, and dry it naturally. I would also be worried about losing resin onto the impeller of that pump and just inside it in general. Other than that I think this is a very well produced video.
