  • I can only contribute my experience. I don't go to spectrum because of the leaders made an offensive comment to me about the way I categorize my sexuality. If I generalized that to all of spectrum, I am sure that would not be fair. So I decided not to generalize that to campus. In the end I gave Greek life a chance, and in 3 years in my sorority, I never experienced one comment like I did at that spectrum meeting. I noticed how many people are open but don't trust the radicalness of spectrum.

  • homophobia would not exist if everyone had a sassy gay friend. mine just happens to call other gay guys faggots. go figure. you know why he's awesome? because nothing phases him. and its because of that I can tell that he's going to go far in life.

  • There is also nothing homophobic about what he is doing in Mr. Dickinson

  • I can tell this film is not very recent. And I am aware that the footage that was used from Mr. Dickinson was taken from Dickinson's own youtube account. Was the student on stage during the clip asked if he could be put in a film that would somewhat suggest he promotes homophobia?

  • remind me again when behaving 'like a man' was a bad thing for a man to do?

  • 'Golinkin' maybe you should Goread a book and for the rest of you...(sportspadawan...etc - you're comedy is great, I feel as though our very language was abused by your stupidity) maybe the problem here is that you don't understand what homophobia is. After all the recent publicity surrounding the suicides one would think you might clue in. The homophobia at Dickinson isn't as bad as it used to be (which doesn't say much) and I'm certain that we all have your brilliant minds to thank!

  • golinkin i agree with you 100%

  • homophobia is a lie

  • i go to dickinson and I born and raised in Houston, Texas, there is definitely not a problem with homophobia at dickinson

  • This is odd. I go to dickinson and am friends with all groups of people...and never hear anything so negative. people say, "that's gay"...ok? I say that in front of 3 gay friends of mine and they understand what it means to me, and will laugh at it casually. it sounds to me that this is just another area in which someone is creating the problem itself--nobody exactly is condemning gays here, yet people want it to seem that way so they have something to battle.

  • Listen dingbat. In order to isolate and attempt to change a social issue it is useful to begin on a micro scale. Do you suggest creating a video "Homophobia in America?" I wish you luck - you would have to document most of the country. The reason this video is important is because it addresses homophobia in a place where it most certainly should not exist; higher education.

  • seriously? i go to dickinson and believe me it is no worse than it is at any college, job, or any other organization. this video is making the college out to be a place where hate crimes happen and where homophobia is a real problem. News flash; IT IS NO BIGGER A PROBLEM HERE THAN IT IS ANYWHERE ELSE.

  • Wow, so sad. Where is this school exactly? Thankfully it's not like this in Canada (not to say that all of America is like this).

  • It's in Carlisle, PA.
