Short after this wonderful song came out, I heard Mr.Obama first time saying his famous sentence....Mr. President, is there the slightest possibility that you copied Mr. Toussaint??
@FreeMySoles Could be that they softened it up for the radio. Perhaps the words you could say on the radio back then were more limited. "Darn" well is used instead of damn too.
Sly and Robbie do an awesome funk/hip-hop/rap (whatever you want to call it) version of this song on their album Rhythm Killers. But still great to hear the original, all that soul squeezed out of a man and his piano.
I love this version of "Yes We Can Can". The Pointer Sisters are an awesome vocal group, but I never cared for their version of this song. I'm glad Allen Toussaint finally sang tis song. Thank you!
this is supposed to be audio only. this video doesn't quite reach. doesn't quite reach it yet. reach out a little more. reach out reach out out out reach reach out work it out
Just a GREAT tune, in the lineage of "We Are All Connected" and "Happiness", both of which I would also love to see magically appear on youtube. But this is Toussaintly enough for now.
IMOVIE!!!!!:)

Love Alan and this song, but just one quibble: God, not Gosh, created the universe. What's wrong with saying so?

Love the song and the music. Can't stand the video! I have to have the song just play in the background without watching the video.
