  • It may have been sloppy, but super informative!

  • why did you come to japan? was it to study?

  • you looking amazing in your yukata

  • You look almost exactly like my girl friend. Except she's cuter. ; p

  • no smash into shape...your shape good >.<

  • "the reverse is what you wear when you're dead" lol ok that surprised me.

  • I-I want one so bad...Y-You looks so gorgeous!!! >.<

  • Very well done! You look beautiful in that yukata, by the way. I just got back from Japan with a yukata in my suitcase, and I would've been lost without this video ^^; Thanks!

  • That took some time lol

  • This looks pretty!! :D The colour suits youuu :O

    Those corsets they talk about- they're horrible! ;A;

They've always made it hard for me to breath... I personally use an old training bra from when I was a kid to make me flatter in the chest area, and a dark or light colour of leggings a bit smaller to make my hips go down :3 Just suggestions^^

  • Your Yukata is gorgous. I havent had one on since i was 13

  • it looks ADORABLE on you!!! :D

  • Okay, you have probably figured this out by now, but you did in fact forget a step. Before tying your second koshihimo (rope) you need to pull down and then forwards the back of the yukata/kimono to show your neck as this is considered respectable/beautiful. The ideal opening is wide enough to fit three fingers in. :) I just noticed because in the side view picture of yours, the back of the yukata was resting directly on the back of your neck. Good Luck!

  • "And the reason is, the reverse is actually what you put on..when you're dead."

Hahahah~ you're so cute and funny!

  • You look beautiful! Thank you for this video!

  • お見事!

    nice dressing

  • thanks, that helped a lot! I just can't get my ribbon to look as good though >-<

  • you look beautiful! :D

  • wow !! what a beautiful girl

  • You are a pretty young lady. Your body is just find the way it is, don't try to fit into a tube; That is not the shape of a woman, i.e. tube.

  • I still can't figure out how to put on my obi - o -

  • there are pads you can buy to help keep the obi flatter and nice looking ^^ beautiful colors, they suit you well!!

  • Thanks soo much for this vid!! oh goshh!! i tried other videos on youtube, but i dont really understand it as much as this vid, cause the quality is kinda bad, and they do it too fast. I really appreciate it and thank you again! I can FINALLY wear my yukata properly!!! :D

  • That is a beautiful dress!!!

  • The yukata you chose is beautiful and you look amazing don't worry about your body shape :D

  • you look beautiful in your yukata ^____^ you go girl ;)

  • lol yes! after hours i have finally put it on and right and perfect!!.....crap i gotta pee! lmao

  • U look great in it

  • I think I know some of the Japanese language you are saying in your video considering I have been exposed to the Japanese language online and CD's and stuff. Any way, nice videos intro2the1.

    siyonada intro2the1

  • I have a pink yukata with sakura on it and the obi is a similar colour and pattern. The geta are really cute too i got it in Kyoto a few weeks ago when i went to Japan. You look nice in it, how can you possibly remember all those steps?? When i put it on they gave me a lesson on how to wear it but i really didn't get it. Obi is the most confusing part, obviously.

  • You did a lot better than I did the first time I put on my yukata! It takes practice but I love wearing them!

  • HAHA ;

" and the reason why is because the reverse is what you put on when your dead"

    sorry , i found that amusing (: & btw , you look beautiful in it (: <3

  • when you put on the obi, it goes around twice, not one time......haha i caught you. i know it hard, but im watching how to do this on my own as well beacue my boyfriend has gotten me a yukata for my birthday. XD

  • i have a dream that i'll go to japan someday.and i'll definetily by a yukata! =3

  • ..... I thought the bow was supposed to be on the back o-o"

  • @QuestionShizzle it was in the back she changed it front is the sign of a hooker. (is that what your talking about?)

  • is it common to see foreigners in yukata in japan??

  • you look great in a yukata! im hoping to make myself a Kimono out of different colors of demim

  • Ohhhh Thankkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkks!!!....I got my first yukata yesterday!!! and had no idea how to put it!!!

Thanks for yout video it helped me a lot!!

  • Thanks for the tutorial, it seems really easy to follow! I'm also gonna wear a yukata for the Gion Matsuri here Kyoto, so I needed a quick and easy tutorial on how to put it on! Glad to have found one =).

I also agree with the others you look good in it! I really like your make-up and hair too, they really fit with your yukata!

  • this yukata really fits you :) i'm going to sew one for myself... if i can xD

  • You're so pretty! Your yukata is beautiful!

  • Very good job considering it was your first time putting it on all by yourself! ^^ and actually, the obi and all the underties is whats supposed to make your body shape into the straight cylinder form..but good job! ^^

  • Very cool. =D

  • vERY COOL. =)

  • Beautiful Yukata. I got one myself but it is very old.

  • Very nice. :)

  • at least once in my whole life honestly.... if your gonna ask me, i wanna wear a real yukata..... im tired of using filipiñana. its so hot and we have to wear it on a hot day.... i wanna wear it... i keep begging my mom to go to japan... but she doesnt want to.... because of VISA....lol

  • You look very pretty in your yukata. Well done!

  • you look very nice

  • does anyone know who much yukatas coast in canada?

  • Awesome video!!! <333 Because of this I finally realize what that weird rope-like piece of cloth was that came with the kimono I ordered. Lol. xD Now I can actually put it on right. xD

  • you look awesome!! do the yukatas come in plus sizes ever?

  • Actually most yukatas are made so they can be adjusted for girls wheter they're tall, ahort, skinny, or think ^-^ i kon cuz im tall AND thick. so i had to find out

  • It rrly suits u ..i like the desighn and pattern :)

  • Great you look so pretty! :)

  • you look very beautiful!

    great video!! (^_^)

  • Lol I'm posing comments on all yoour vids but I love them soo much :D you look VERY beutiful!! and doesn't matter what shape you are you still rocked it. It just goes to show that almost ANY race can wear Yukata's and Kimono's ETC.

  • ほんとにかわいいです。

It's a tad sloppy, but it's not due to your curves. Just work on your technique. Although its the same for all you have to find your own little variations to make it yours. lol.

    Anyway good job,がんばって。

    ーけんしん

  • i love the colors of the obi! you look so pretty in your yukata!

  • your explanation is easy to follow. You look nice after putting on Yukata!

  • You and your curves are absolutely beautiful.

  • now i see why it takes two people to do that

  • I love your tutorial!! My boobs always make my top open, so I have to put the front super tight to not look hoochish. I suck at doing my own, but you're pretty good.

  • You look really good in it. My Japanese friend gave me a Yukata as present and I'm going to wear it tonight to a party. This video helped a lot, because I seriously has no idea how to put it on...LOL. Thanks~~~

  • Its looks nice.

  • You look very cute. You may not have the type of body that the yukata was made to accommodate, but I wouldn't be able to tell because it looks good on you.

  • Wow nice dress. You look very pretty in it. I think it suites you very well. ^_^

  • You look so pretty while putting on your yukata! Like child-like innocence =3

This was a cool video because I knew nothing about that and the whole "left side=dead" was funny...lol n_n

  • OMG you look so cute in your yukata, so Idon't know what your talking about ^0^

Thank for the video btw me and my friend are planning on going to japan after college, and I want to wear one so bad D: But I'm a hour-glass shape so I might look too weird in one T_T

  • no no lol it wont look wierd...just different than the shape it was desinged for. you'll look cute ^_^

  • @DinoRapture All you have to do is give yourself a little padding under the obi... thats usually what they do so that you have the tube like she's talking about.

  • wonderful lesson! The hair and makeup looks good. I think you look great in a yukata.

I was taught how to wear a kimono, but I forgot lol and I'm not sure if the Yukata is the same

  • You look pretty and don't complain about your body shape you look great girl :-)

  • omg u did great for your first time!! i want a yukata so bad!!! where did u get yours from? do they have a online store?

  • Que bonito!!!!

  • Is the Yukata and the Kimono the same? I always wanted a Kimono but I was wondering if its jsut like the Yukata because the Kimono seem to have more layers.

  • Yukata is a kimono made of cotton. If you're looking to get one or the other, I definitely suggest yukata. Yukata is comfortable, inexpensive, and easy to wear, while yukata is very expensive (more than your typical ball gown), very hard to wear (with many, many layers), and hard to move in.

There are classes where you can learn to put on a kimono, though. You should take one. Don't give up your dream! ^^

  • I love your shirt

  • you are beautiful :)

  • Wow! You look stunning!

Sorry for my ignorance, but I was wondering like when do japanese usually wear the yukata? Like is it a formal dress kind of thing or do you see people walking around in their yukata? thank you!

  • A yukata is pretty informal. The place you'll see them the most at is at summer festivals, like the Bon festival. They have those in the US, too. It's coming up soon, so if you'd like to see people in yukata you should look and see if there's going to be a festival in your area! ^^

  • I love the print on your yukata. I bought two home last year and wear them all the time! Both of mine have old japanese poetry on them and are my favorite comfy garmets.

  • Wow, the way I learned to do the obi was different, but then mine came with a little english directions sheet. My yukata didn't come with those two white strings though, guess that's why it was so hard tucking mine. Mine's purple with a pink obi ^_^ Maybe I'll post a response vid with the way I learned, it's easier I think. Don't forget to hold your sleeves when reaching or pouring!

  • thank you thank you thank you. I got a yukata from my step moms co-worker and we had no idea how to put it on. The directions were in japanese. I could understand some of the hiragana but not the katakana and kanji. But thank you thank you. You look nice!

  • you look so beautiful with your yukata and also your make up and hair looks awesome

  • you look beautiful, make up is perfect.

  • It looks very cute on you, the makeup and the flower are nice final touches.

  • thanks for the video. once you get the hang of it I'm sure you will like your finished product. For the first time putting it on it still looks great. Thanks for the info and please keep it up.

  • It looks really pretty!

and I like your makeup, since you seem to go for a much more subtle, and softer look. You use it as an enhancer, and not a mask.

    *high five*

  • Great Video...............

  • This is great, and you look awesome~!

  • wow make yourself look like a cylinder ...

  • I'm impressed that you actually tie your own obi - loads of girls these days just buy the simple fake ones with the clip on bows on the back. Ha ha. Well done! (And kudos for using CCL music, too!)

  • aaww! u look soooo cute! <3

  • How neat! U looked nice.

  • FYI. In case you dont know, the long sleeves are for thoes who are not married. Meant to attract the opposite sex generally. Married woman were shorter sleeves. XD

  • I peeped that too when it was on the bed.

  • i love the make up and the yukata! it's very pretty. The flower and ornament in the hair is also nice.

Nd ur hair flower thing is just like an incing on d cake.....so pretty, and im not even homo lol....

ps i love love ur hair.....i wish i could do my hair like u do.

  • concur

  • my yukata isn't that complex...but it probably cuz i'm a guy. lol

You've done it correctly, just a little sloppy underneath the right of the obi. not bad for seven minutes. :D

i'm gonna wear mine to an O-bon festival ^o^

  • that looks nice!!! hey how much and I wanna get one in the US their was a store i knew about were i live but they moved!!!

  • that looks nice!!! hey how much and I wanna get one in the US their was a store i knew about were i live but they moved!!!

I thought the bow is supposed to go in the back...no?

  • It's so pretty!

You bought one? Or is it borrowed?

i have heard they are very expensive. X(

    Peace.

  • kimono are...yukata aren't. You can get the full set at Uniqlo for 30 bucks. :D

  • Generally, yukata are inexpensive. Prices depend on the materials used. I have two. One is cotton print I bought in Harajuku ($37) the other is silk print I bought in a store in Omote-Sando called Oriental Bazaar ($65). Still much much cheaper than a furisode (what you usually think when you hear the word 'kimono')

  • Thank you for the information.

I'm glad I got that bit of ignorance on my part, straightened out.

    Peace. XD

  • You look really pretty, makeup and all.

  • Wow, my daughter was just asking for a Yukata for her birthday and we were trying to figure out how it was put on. I just happen to click on your page and what a surprise!! It is very pretty.

  • you look very lovely :D

  • So pretty! *O*

  • you look nice

  • Minimal makeup is best. :D

You look great in the yukata!!

  • u look beautiful... does the colors mean anything?

  • cuteeeeee..

  • makeup looks really good with the yukata...

i would suggest maybe a tiny bit of a silvery color in the inner corners to open up our eyes a bit for the evening...

either way, you look great and hope you have lots of fun! :)

  • yeah... please don't talk negatively about the shape of your body. psh. you can't see how fabulous you look?? well, you do.

  • lol thank you. its just a fact that the yukata and kimono are not made for a curvy body. ^_^

  • ahh, i gotcha. however, you make it work for curvy. don't let the yukata wear you, you wear it and work it! haha, have fun at the event. ^_~

  • OMG one word Beautiful

  • it looked nice.

    i liked the makeup :)

  • i think ur makeup looks lovely ^^
