This is not meant to be in any way rude, but are these supposed to be pedals for like.....guitars? haha I mean i stumbled across this stuff lookin for a good synth sounding pedal for a guitar. Somethin like a MXR Blue Box. And i was referred to the Atoner. But i dont understand, like someone else said, it drowns out the instrument that you play. So is this more like movie effects?
What's the point of it shadowboxer2024 ? It's something to drive your neighbors nutz with at 2:00 a.m. in the morning and see how long it takes for them to call the law on ya'.
I have one of these - usually, I mix it via a Jomox T-Resonator together with some other oddness and turn the volume up on my roland monitors. I can guarantee that there's nothing quite like this little box! It screams and it thumps and with some heavey delay & echo, you'll have your neighbours running for their lives!!!! Brilliant!
YIKES ! What sort of twisted deminic mind thinks up a pedal like this! This is NUTZo! Can it be used w/ a guitar, IE, as the guitar as a Triggering device? Or do ya just turn it on, tweak like a banshee & wait for yer landlord to break the door down & Evict yer azz?
Very true, it's easy to turn the Triwave up so that it overwhelms the input... that's sort of the point, the Triwave is more an instrument than effect processor. But with LFO depths down low, the triwave makes a cool ring modulator. Plus check out the Triggered Ring Mod triwave video, it's built for a guitar input!
@timjmoran I think treating this as an "effect" is a huge understatement and not entirely correct. It's more of a standalone synth than anything else. Yeah, my microKorg has a line in, but how many demos do you hear where they plug a guitar into it? Audio in is just a useless bells-and-whistles feature IMHO. I own 10+ synths and NEVER have used an audio in, I always found it more of a novelty than a useable effect. I highly doubt 4ms had a guitar in mind when developing the picogenerator.
I always wondered if the triwave picogenerator could be used as a standalone guitar pedal for awsome weird sounds but with out the self occilation like a fuzz or distortio pedal, could I do that by just turning of the sound generators or some sort of mix knob?......or is the triwave more intended to be more of a noise module, I'm tring to decide wich one I want it for guitar.
@jurgenbono i have not tried this pedal but from watching the videos I am seriously thinking about buying one for making noise and also for making new wavetables for my samplers and synthesisers, drumsynth etc. i intend to mostly use it as a generator rather than an effect. your results may differ.
Looks more like the controls of a sci-fi spaceship. :P

Why does the TriWave come with a line in? I would think any instrument would get totally drowned out by the blips, squeeks and scronks.
4ms is great!

@4mspedals SO.. that being the case.. don't ya think it would have been helpful for the viewer to hear
this w/ a GUITAR going thru it?? Seems like yer demos need to be longer & more detailed. I'm
sure a pedal this big & with this many knobs would do a WHOLE lot more than we are getting here.

casiotone1331 7 months ago
@casiotone1331 ohhh-I'm not sure that is entirely true-if one is, say, more of a guitar player
than a keyboard player( I guess I'd fall into that camp) then I think it CAN be useful to trigger a synth
w/ the guitar as a controller. Most synths do not allow the player to just plug right in without some
sort of MIDI device- so that is not really an option anyway. BUT- a fella I jam w/ recently opted
for a SONNUS device that allows him to plug a guitar into LOGIC or a keybd. synth. kinda cool !
timjmoran 7 months ago
@casiotone1331 PART 2.. I also DO understand that this gizmo is NOT really an FX unit... and I AM ok
w/ that ( BTB-to get yer mind REALLY blown, take a look at the instruments made by FOLKTEK... inCREDible.!!!! )
I am just saying that it would be a LOT more useful to be able to determine the NOTE value going into
this device. At least, to ME it would be! I do appreciate what this thing does, tho. It seems well-made
& all....
