  • She is so ugly, she is pretty! LOL!

  • Deliverance!

  • Sounds like a old 6 cilinder Scania.

  • hunk of junk? that this a hunk of gold!

  • thats the power of Cummins!:)

  • Built to last !! Love the Autocars ! Out pull a Mack, any day !

  • @w1e2s3s4k5i6l7e8s9 i dont know about that it would come close though

  • now just imagine that thing smaking into your average modern car or pick up, remember this beast doesnt have any brakes

  • now just imagine that thing smaking into your average modern car or pick up

  • Man that is so cool. I would not have guessed that thing would start up like that.

  • There's a garage near where I live with an old Autocar wrecker thats been sitting there for years. Not too famliar with the old Autocar models but it looks like a 50s model. Wish someone would save it, I've never seen anything like it. At any rate, hope you get this thing back into good shape.

  • Nice! Fix her up!

  • DUEL pt2.

  • the cummins diesel engine never dies,no matter how old they are and the use the have been in to it ,thats a fact ,CUMMINS DIESEL ENGINES ROCK.

  • it came original with this cummins?

  • with primer paint and a little tlc that would love to drive it

  • WoW what a beauty! what happened to its original rear axles? i would love to see her running!

  • Smooth

  • Dude! I cant get enough of this video! I sold a 71' Mack with a small cam 350 13spd that sounds excatly like yours; from start to rev-ups it sounds just like yours! I had a 30Ton winch and wet-ket with a Relience 30' end-dump. I sold it in Jan 2007. Great Trucks just like your AutoCar will last forever.

  • Who would thrash an Autocar so badly! glad you guys are giving her some love.

  • Dude, this would be an awesome restoration project .......... are you planing to do so?

  • its not in too good shape but its super awesome. I hope it gets rebuilt

  • trucks were made to last!!!

  • Ya just can't kill em..

  • i'll be damned, nice rig man thanks for keepin one out of the scrap yard

  • C POWER.

  • if that aint the picture or rode hard and put up wet

  • indstructable?

  • wow what a gordgeous truck

  • thats nice restore her up

  • We are the new third world.

  • Now thats reliability

  • NICE old truck.I have always like d the old Autocars!!They look indestructible!!!!

  • Cummins engines never die, you could crush one, burn it, drown it, kick it, punch it, blow it up, and it'll still start up

  • I don't know.....if you run one out of oil for 2 minutes, and catch it and add oil, within 2 hours after that, the crank will be ruined by a burnt main or spun rod. My experience more than once, at least with the old 855cid's (250, 300, 350,etc). Now, with the old 2-cycle 71-series Detroits, those could go a shocking distance with no oil, and then dry liners would haul it down. After it cooled down, with oil added, they'd restart, often with no damage! Without water, though, they'll crack heads!

  • Oh, I'd like to add, I've had rat tractors that looked like this one in the video, and ran 'em on the street in Chicago area for years! I was the king of junks around here, Anyone in Chicago that did semi-dump work would certainly know who I am; I was a legend here in the "80's, and early 90's!

I had a '59 red Hendrickson tow truck that got torched. The lines were copper, so I replaced the glass, rerouted the brake line to run through a trolley valve, didn't even paint it, and drove it around!

  • @whammydoom just like Chuck Norris

  • the truck had been running or the air tank wouldnt have been filled..

  • @peterbilt266 thank god im not the only compotent diesel guy on youtube...

  • @wrenchmonkeyman yeah and im just 12 years old.

  • @peterbilt266 hey im 17 an been around it my whole life an i dint even cath that good eye lil buddy

  • @peterbilt266 they probably just brought another supply of air

  • @2strokedetroit Yeah thats possible too.

  • @peterbilt266 oops my bad I thought you meant air starter, not air horn

  • @peterbilt266 or they hooked a irline 2 it and aired the tank up

  • @dieselman1988 I'd say thats most likely what they did.

  • @peterbilt266 Then again no claims of a cold start where made.

  • It`s ALIVE!!!!!! <3

  • AutoCar was the most pulling trucks out there.

  • thats a runner! whats it got 6... 7... million miles?

  • Ugly as crap, but I'm amazed it still runs! Did you restore the engine?

  • Awaken from the dead :-o

  • Once called them aweful car.

  • COOL! Check my site.. Autocar, Mack, Diamond "T", International .. and son rustandgrease has GMC General's.

  • very nice.

buit tu restaurate it would cost a lot of bucks.

  • that's what thy mean when thy say--- don't judge a book by it's cover.....

  • beautiful......

  • I'm not the biggest cummins fan but she sure rus smooth

  • The Autocar is also big in the trash pickup field. Fantastic trucks

  • That's what I call a hoss!

  • The autocar is still around. They are made for the overseas market in other countries. But in the USA some are still built for heavy machinery such as oilfields etc..

  • Looks like you're ready to hit the road.

  • that reminds me of the red one from maximum overdrive, the one that was pullin the zekes trash trailer.

  • same here

  • Wow! Impressive!

  • i would love to see it rebuilt.

  • she sounds good.

    A-cars...gone but not forgotten.

  • there is a reason why they use autocar for industrial and construction use. its a horse.

you cant kill them. best trucks ever made.

  • Who needs brakes?

  • funny you mention that, i had a conductor ask me that the other day, scared me a little i had 7,000 feet of train.

  • I said that because of those trucks had no spring brakes for parking. So you better have a wheel chock for a parking brake

  • oh, hehehe, never drove a autocar before, just a mack r685, r 700, and a oshkosh.

  • autocar is much better than ford but everone thinks tht ford invented the car but autocar invent the car

  • Wow! Thats say something about how these trucks were built. Tough as nails!

  • Hard to believe that old piece of a truck still runs.

  • Not really. It's got one of the best diesels ever made under the hood.

  • 100 percent usa...

  • got that right, drove my buddys mack r700 with a cummins, what a truck. 1981 and out pulls most newer crap.

  • why its built in the usa, built to last. alot of the macks from the 40s up to the 80s were built to outlast the driver. my r685st was built in 1971, although it took alot of abuse from my former company its still kicking on my uncles farm, oh yeah 1995 chevy astro with 538,000 miles and 1996 saturn sl2 with 215,000, american man-american man.

  • Awesome rig!

  • are you gonna restore it?? sounds awsome

  • Nice video Brad

  • wow what a clasic auotocar is it for sale very interested!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow! great video. Love the way that motor fire right up . What model cummins is that?

  • 1959 DC75 Autocar 250 Cummins,10 speed Road Ranger. Did I mention No Brakes??

  • @classicpower07

I am convinced that Cummins makes the best engines. I haven't seen this done with a Cat or a Detroit. However, if someone else has, send me a link:)

  • @jpgbrookes i cant say i have seen it done with anything but a cummins, but i also never have looked either, im sure it happens every day man, as long as you have fuel fire and air with no major problems that were the reason it got parked, pretty much any engine will come to life

  • @classicpower07 do u have plans to restore it?

  • @classicpower07 that would make a badass restoration truck did u ever thing about it?
