  • I also agree with the above to comments. A beautiful video, well made. I would also welcome a dialogue and meeting with anyone at UT who is interested in bringing music therapy to the NICU program, as I AM A private practioning, BOARD CERTIFIED, Master's Level music therapist in Knoxville, TN. I would LOVE to bring music therapy to UT!

  • Wonderfully done video. Great to see music being recognized in a medical setting. However, I must agree with the below stated comment and would like to point out that there IS a LARGE body of research (on the contrary to the video stating that there is none) about NICU music therapy. Music is powerful, and therefore needs to be implemented by persons trained specifically in providing such services to NICU patients. There is also a separate NICU MT certification through Florida State University.

  • So touching! And congratulations to Sean for providing beautiful music. With all due respect to your wonderful supportive music program, I feel compelled to share information about Music Therapy. Music Therapy is an allied healthcare profession (about 5,000 Board-Certified Music Therapists in the US). We go through standard collegiate curriculum, attend an internship approved by the American Music Therapy Association, then we are eligible to sit for board certification.
