cheers mate was looking for a backlink checker apart from alexa. 1 question though.

i used a website to give me 500 free backlinks but this tool and alexa says i have none. im a noob can you explain whats going on. e.g. why is it taking so long - are they fake backlinks to hook me in

When implementing back links to ones domain it takes time for them show up , this is because they need to be allocated for in the search engines algorithm. Don't bother with free back links because they bring no real juice.

You need high PR back links mainly .Edu .Gov, try this place in this string into the search engines: "keyword phrase"+inurl:blog site:.edu

"keyword phrase"+inurl:blog site:.gov

You will then bring back .Edu .Gov blogs related to your niche.
