Thanks Arif Bhai for posting this qawwali. Me and a troupe of singers had performed this qawwali for an inter-hostel event at IIT-Delhi, but due to the bigoted attitude of the judges we could only manage a second place, since the judges felt that we should have performed a filmi qawwali like the other hostels. It is sad that people do not recognise true qawwali for what it is and prefer filmi substitutes.

Adaab Arif Saheb. I am so glad to hear this rare audio of late Jaffar Khan saheb. I am an exponent of Indian classical music and I hail from the same gharana. We are all from the Illustrious family known as Rampur Sehaswan Gharana and Jaffar saheb was my grandunlce. Also, the supporting vocals in this audio are by Wajahat Hussain Khan who is grandson of Legendaru Ustad Nissar Hussain Khan Saheb and I m his great grandson.

Jayjee sir btw our gharana is Rampur Sehaswan Gharana and Jaffar saheb was from the same though his maternal side was from Atroli. He was the nephew and disciple of legendary Ustad Mushtaq Hussain Khan Saheb and the guy accompanying him on vocal support is grandson of legendary Ustad Nissar Hussain Khan Saheb.
