  • Spotted Future NCAA Champ Matt Mcdonough at :25-28

  • @201Allstar he already has one!!

  • Am hoping this 4 year old will really be great, any help, criticism anything, comment on the video.

  • This year sucked for me. Was a Freshman starting Varsity and in the first tournament, broke my collarbone wrestling a senior. :/

  • ya i know all of those schools on the state podium this is where i grew up i took 6th last year at 125 and 2nd this year at 130 and im only a sophmore

  • Oklahoma State University has won more NCAA team championships than any other school, having won the title 34 times (includes 3 unofficial titles), most recently in 2006. Iowa is second in NCAA history with 23 national championships, all of which have come since 1975. Sports Illustrated recently named the Iowa program one of the top sports dynasties of the 20th century.

so unless you go to oklahoma st. Iowa is better than you

  • Brazilian JuJitSu Is the the sport of men! No rounds and the only way out is tap out or pass out!! This is for pussy's proven in the ring! How about that pussy that wouldn't match a girl hahahaha

  • Brazilian JuJitSu Is the the sport of men! No rounds and the only way out is tap out or pass out!! This is for pussy's proven in the ring!

  • @174295 I do both Brazilian jiu jitsu and wrestiling there both great sports

  • yea right ill armbar u so quick and i'll take u down so quit trying to be cool!!!!!!

  • @headbutt100 Yeah right a jiu jitsu practictioner can not take down wrestler (im not hating on jiu jitsu i love that sport) but wrestiling teaches your so many defenses on take downs trust i know what im talking about i do both sports jiu jitsu artists dont have nearly the technique to to take a wrestler down

  • @174295 ...... YOUR PRETTY TOUGH FOR A GIRL!!! BJJ whatta a JOKE!!!

  • Can't forget about states like ohio, new jersey, california, florida, etc. Iowa has an enviable wrestling culture but by no means holds a monopoly in the sport.

  • I think Florida deserves some respect for wrestling!

  • lol... if i stacked a kid like that (at 2:48), i wouldn't get a "good job, buddy." the wrestling coaches would name their firstborn sons after me... shows you how much wrestling sucks in seattle.

  • ohio wrestling is very tough also and could even be better, ohians are very tough on their feet

  • @wrestler204 Yea i wrestle and im a girl in ohio and we r great!

  • i do folkstyle wrestling. can you do folkstyle here???????????????

  • Thats impressive!

  • Yeah i live in Iowa and it is amazing we start wrestling when we are really young

  • A great story, adds to the purpose of the sport. Great video!

  • PA is the best wrestling state.

  • you have not seen hard until you see the brackets i wrestle in

  • have we all forgotten about California?

  • @DahammerMan what about California? Dont even say anything about them have a good wrestling tradition... It goes 1. Iowa and then I dont care who you throw in 2-49

  • @Rightwingman09 California's state tournament is the hardest in the country, in my opinion of course.

  • @DahammerMan No its not, Sport Illustrated has interviewed so many high school wrestlers around the country that say they would rather place 8th at the Iowa state tournament then win their own state.

  • That's Matt McDonough at :30

  • Wrestling is an awesome sport and a great workout

  • what kind of wrestling is this ?

  • @2possi folkstyle.

  • RUSSIA is the best lol :D but in america idk, i heard iowa is a good state for wrestling

  • Comment removed

  • @magic2224

I wouldnt go that far.. We host the toughest state tournament in the country

  • Pa n ohio are bettter overall though

  • PA is better. Easton, Northampton, Nazereth, CB South, Upper Perk, Reynolds, Central Dauphin...

  • umm, fuck no. wrestling is what we do here in iowa. most kids start way younger than in this video.

  • Top three! Iowa, Minnesota and Pa.

  • PA wrestling is right there

  • I have to say you really do not know what your talking about if you think any state can compete with Iowa, yeah blair academy has done very well, but it still doesn't come close to what Iowa can produce for wrestling/wrestlers.

  • this is so true. sure other states may produce a few schools which are incredible, but when you compare every school in iowa to every school in any other state, iowa's are all far superior.

  • Guess you Hawkeye's never heard of Jersey Shore Wrestling, or for that matter, Jersey itself?? Ever hear of Blair Academy??

  • blair dosnt count all the wrestlers are from out of state

  • they dont count they recruit and dont tell me they dont mark perry wrestled there and hes from oklahoma for god sakes

  • @robertabramson pennsylvania is first in hs and new jersey is second..

  • okay, one awesome school... every school in iowa is good.

  • i wrestle at 140 in southeast iowa.

this shit is serious here. not even joking.

Dimitri Boyer is one of the best in the state/country. ranked number one at 152. went 45-0 last year

  • By the way, Blair Academy(NJ) has been one of the best if not the best high schools in the counrty for as long as I can remember. If you think Jersey sucks than why dont you google them or youtube it. Im sure you can find some video.

  • ok, one good school dude. thats all u got.

  • Comment removed

  • "NJ and PA have a way to go"??? You dont know too much about wrestling if thats what you believe. That being said, NY is a joke compared to these two along with Iowa and a couple other midwestern states. There are a couple others that arent too bad (FL and CA)

  • really baseball kid...i wrestle in one of the best counties in ny and i still give it 2 iowa...were gud but notthing like iowa

  • Iowa and Minnesota, two titans in wrestling, i got respect for iowa to though

  • haha, baseballlegend is a dumbass. The heartland produces the best wrestlers. Which state produced yet another national title this year? I'm pretty sure that was Iowa. Ohio, yes, is a good wrestling state. But New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Michigan still have quite a ways too go. Why don't you stick to your screen name sport of baseball and leave the wrestling convos to the people who actually know what they are talking about.

  • Um... yeah Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, New York, and Michigan are the best wrestling states in the US

You think this is good look at the states I mentioned competion its scary good

  • iowa has won 22 national championships and 35 confrence championships not any of those states

  • jesus these kids are good...... the one kid hit my favorite tilt lol

  • i am ten and i wrestle for a small mat club i got 2nd in leagues and i am on the dual team it is my third year this check out some of my vid please comment

  • California ALL DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Enough said

  • california wrestling sucks!!!!...im from ny and ill still give it 2 iowa

  • Iowa is fucking badass. We dominate when it comes to wrestling

  • Iowa's a beast man

  • iowa is the best we dominate wrestling anywhere dont even say ohio state is the best or new jersey cause you arent

  • and yet their national teams don't win

  • 5:13 is that David Taylor ??

  • open invitation, to all for wrestling tournaments in Hi we go some game on the ROCK.

  • Ok all you haters need to shut up KC/M this year libertery nationals every weight class had 1-4 iowa placers there was 29 iowa 1st placers dont try to say shit an thats youth highschool is just as good have some one come to a iowa meet an youll get shit stomped because iowa is the best of the best an then you wanna talk college iowa has won back to back national titles an wait who did they beat ? oh thats right ohio state an penn state but i thought ohio an penn have the best? sike iowa dose

  • It's more than a little crazy to start this at age 5 but just as Toby Maguire said in the GOAT movie 'Pleasantville"'--"You can't go back."

Not good. Not good at all.

  • no not really new jersy has the best youth wresiling dumbass

  • ohio has the best youth wrestlers

  • Okay, that is the dumbest thing ive ever heard.

  • im an awsome wrestler i came 2 in hudsonvally

  • Since when is Iowa the best youth wrestling? Pennsylvania has owned this sport for 40 years. Please check your records my friend.

  • thank you iowa is horrid

  • fags.. Florida is where it happens babay! chea mang 561!!!!

  • WHY WASENT I BORN IN IOWAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im a wrestler from mass who dident discover wrestling until freshman year!

  • @7bush7 .. ya same here.. i wish i would of started earlier..

  • @Jammer206 shutu p idiot faggot

  • @IFYOUREPLYYOUL0SE BLOCKED: Youtube admin. sect. 22 act. 42 pt. 9:

  • twstunna1 iowa ownsss asss! and littlefuzzer im sure ur not no ncaa all american fuckin fag

  • iowa sucks

  • there the best in college idiot

  • exactly the best in college dumbass not youth or high school and there so good in college becasue they get the best kids from AROUND AND ACROSS THE NATION not just iowa dumbfuck dont try and question the late great TwStUnNa1

  • there is not a state that magically makes good wrestlers its how hard they work.

  • Very good point

  • u suck sweaty cow balls

  • I was an ncaa all-american and I find this ridiculous.looks like dad is trying to re-live his youth..shame on you dad

  • Totally. The sad thing that they don't show here is that most of the kids that start at 5 don't ever become state champs. For every 5 year old that becomes a champ there's 10 (at least) that don't and their families end up dysfunctional because the kids burn out and the parents can't figure out why. I see it all the time coaching HS. It's a difference between being supportive and being abusive.

  • I really disagree, he seems supportive, not critical and the kid also seems to enjoy it. I understant what you're trying to say but I don't think it applies to this particular case, not to say that it doesn't ever happen because I have experienced it personnally and I know it does

  • Contrary to what the one guy says, Iowa is NOT the "number 1 state for wrstling at all levels". If you look at the FACTS, Pennsylvania and Ohio absolutely dominate overall in the country. If you dont believe me, check the NCAA rosters yourself. Wrestlers from PA and OH outnumber other states, and many at the top are from PA and OH.

  • the dude that is in the 1st clip that says NP on it thats the high school i go to Nashua Plainfield

  • iam 12 and i wrestle people in iowa

  • arent you special

  • i know right

  • awesome
