  • old school for real, my how things have changed, love it

  • Carlagirl7, that is not going to be easy because they wrote SO MANY songs. To start with I would go online to Harry Fox agency, then type in "Hopsack and Silk Music or Nick-O-Val music and see what you come up with. Peace Cch092775

  • @nice1dave I agree.... I didn't know people remembered this little gem. As you listen to him sing this he sounds like Nick

  • R.I.P. NI CK ASHFORD

  • priceless motown gem 1974

  • Can Valerie Simpson and Nicholas Ashford write a song or what? - Shoe Shoe Shine, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Your Precious Love, Remember Me, Let's Go Get Stoned, Solid (As a rock), If I Could Build My Whole World Around You, Who's Gonna Take The Blame?, I'm Every Woman, The Boss, Silly, Wasn't I?, Didn't You Know You Have To Cry Sometimes?, I Am Your Man, Clouds, I Don't Need No Doctor,

  • @Cch092775 Are you serious?? Ashford & Simpson wrote this, I have the 45 single still. It never occured to me to see who wrote this. Young as I was I loved this song so much, I would read articles about them in Right On magazine too. Couldn't get enough, thanks for the info.

  • @AliCat2004..I too used to read Right On! Magazine..love it

  • @Cch092775 ....I so want the entire catalog of work of Ashford and Simpson....everything that they wrote for others and themselves....

  • We had lead singer questions @ that age but, NO JUDGING....that's not for us to do...

    Good music is good music....

  • Is this the guy who sang 18 with a bullet?

  • I used to have these guys eat dinner @ my home whenever they were away from D.C. on holidays. I became good friends with Tony and Michael . May Tony rest in peace. Michael is Godfather to my youngest daughter. I have not been able to find Mike for many years, we have lost contact. I have been trying to contact him to no avail. He and I were like bros and sisters. I have moved several times because of armed services and really would love to know if anyone on here can help me.

  • How REAL love was back in the day...

  • Why can't there be music like this anymore :(

  • @eric2181965, yes "recorded on Motown" but not in Motown; instead you're listening to some classic, silky smooth Philly, recorded in Philly.

    --Æ.

  • this song makes you realize how times have change from then to now and what a shame it is

  • Beautiful song...

  • Written by Nick Ashford & Valarie Simpson and recorded on Motown.

  • When I first heard this song I thought it was the Stylistics....and so did everyone else. But it was no surprise when I found out the song was written by Valerie Simpson and Nickolas Ashford. They have been so good for so long and are still very much alive musically in 2010. Solid as a rock.

  • TONY WASHINGTON WAS GIFTED. R.I.P.
