The Pink Flamingo Ball is not associated with the movie Pink Flamingos. Pink is the color nationally associated with breast cancer research, for which this ball is raising money, and there is an actual animal called a pink flamingo.  And to split hairs, if this ball was really named after the movie, it would be called "The Pink Flamingos Ball," with plural flamingos.

The annual breast cancer scare campaign is worse. Every year they repeat the claim that "1 in 8" women will have breast cancer. They don't tell the women whom they terrorize that one has to live to be 85 before her lifetime cumulative odds are that high. According to the National Cancer Institute, a woman's chance of having breast cancer in the first 30 years of life is 1 in 2500. They never talk about the hazards of radiation associated with mammograms. They're whores for the medical industry.
