  • There is no such thing as porn addiction. The whole concept is made-up by organized religion to scare people, and then sell them a book or seminar on how to "beat it"...err I mean overcome it.

  • @gsschoenfeld

"There is no such thing as porn addiction." According to who? You have interesting assumptions that are unaccounted for.

  • @kyleotto44 The burden of proof is on those who claim porn addiction exists. For example if someone claims unicorns exist it's not my burden to prove they don't exist. Even so I'll tell you what I do know which is that the American Psychiatric Association doesn't have a diagnosis of "porn addiction" in their Diagnostic Statistical Manual. It simply doesn't exist.

  • @gsschoenfeld

I ask you a similar question: According to who is the burden of proof on those who claim the existence of an addiction?

It seems that you see the APA as having authority in diagnosis and record of all addictions that exist. Why do assume that is true? Surely their DSM doesn't exhaustively contain all addictions, that assumption is foolish. It seems that you assume APA is canon, whereas I assume that the Bible is canon.

  • @kyleotto44 Well you just made it easier because there is absolutely nothing about porn addiction in the bible either.

  • @gsschoenfeld When I say the Bible is canon or authoritatively truth I am not not saying the Bible contains the only truth, but rather, the truth only. Surely there are many true things that the Bible doesn't mention. But, everything the Bible mentions is true. With that said, the Bible actually does mention the idea of pornography in the root word for "fornication". The transliterated Greek is "porneia" which is where the modern word pornography comes from. Message me if you'd like to dialogue.

  • I am addicted to sex and porn. I need help. I will stay clean for a few days and think God finally helped me change than I will fall flat on my face. I desire to live a life pleasing to God but I can't stop. I try so hard! Sometimes I wonder how much more of this God will take from me. How do I stop for good?

  • @Reznap1313 Hey Reznap1313 ! Please check your private message on Youtube. I have sent you an important message with a link that will help you stop for good.

  • I need help with porn, I'm hooked. Guilt and fear consumes me right after I fulfill the lustful passion.

  • (Matthew 5:17)

  • every one be a muslim .

christianti is a new religion but islam is many thousand year old.

    watching porn destrois your life.

but in islam if you fear your god you will not watch porn.

your will power against porn will be much greater.

i am a muslim and i am porud to be a MUSLIM

  • @TheDevildon2 i think ur confused dude.....

  • @TheDevildon2 So stupid, you think living with the fear of god is something to be proud of?

I'm not even christian, and i feel free because i'm afraid of nothing.

  • @KopaBill You're afraid of death.

  • What are you going to do about your addiction to religion? --It's far worse than porn.

  • Comment removed

  • @jgallete You need to find a good friend in real life and confess it to that person. It's the only way out.

  • Many people don't realise that all that porn imagery gets stored in the subconscious mind and affects the way the brain functions in terms of interpersonal relationships, moods, self esteem etc. Also the brain of a regular porn user becomes dependent on the dopamine rush of looking at highly stimulating porn images and videos. This may cause life outside of porn to seem less pleasurable than it could be, due to low dopamine and downragulated dopamine receptors, similar to stimulant abuse.

  • Also it is easy to see that porn is addictive and alters brain function when a regular porn user attempt to quit using porn. They have great difficulty quitting and always relapse, and during the abstinence phase can suffer withdrawal symptoms such as headaches, mood swings, anxiety, etc. Now if porn was as neccessary to life as food than that would make sense, but porn is not a requirement for a health life.

  • I went to church today I felt guilty and I watched this so I am. Making my best effort to quit.

  • Anyone who ever thinks it's okay to look at pornography is sadly mistaken. Porn is destroying more lives than the Holocaust ever did.

  • @sweetsweatyfeet

You're free to have your opinion, but please, say something new and meaningful. You're emotional babel is illogical, useless, and no bearing for truth. There are most definitely cults who call themselves "christian". As for sexuality, one is unable to rightly define sexuality apart from the Creator of sexuality, namely Jesus. Lastly, if you know anything about Jesus it is that He hates religion and was murdered at the hands of the religious elitist.

  • @kyleotto44 Meh... I think you mean babble, (not babel as in the tower of...). If it wasn't made clear, I'm an atheist raised in a Christian community who no longer buys into Christian dogma (or any unproven, supernatural, mystical assertions). Therefore I don't rely on primitive moral edicts in a 2000 year old book of mythology as a guide to human sexuality .

BTW---regardless of the labels fundie Christians find fashionable to use---Christianity is still (by definition) a religion .

  • john piper is a true mangod bless him

  • i have quit pornography after accepting christ god please help in my resolution

  • John Piper is one of the few men who are of sound mind and live a life with true Biblical conviction.

  • @AstralBluevideos John Piper is pretty legit trust me.And the Bible says that many religious charlatans and false prophets will come to decieve people-Harold Camping is a perfect example. He is the reason why many ditch Christianity as irrational.

  • @AstralBluevideos Religion isnt God.Jesus hated religion,he said it himself.Religious people are the worst kind.Catholicism if anything is not true Christianity.

  • THIS IS SO TRUE! Even in my darkest times in my life where there was sin I NEVER understood pornography. NEVER.

  • All I ask is that you will pray for those who suffer, ESPECIALLY me.

  • Addiction to anything is bad and will destroy you. Addiction to religion has killed more people and more marriages than porn ever will.

What people have to realise is if we were made by God then he made us as we are. That's a creature that enjoys sex, enjoys masturbation, enjoys the climax. It releases chemicals into our body that makes us feel good. He made us that way to ensure our survival.

He also made us to be attracted to the best of our species. So we reproduce the best and fittest.

  • @AstralBluevideos

Religion has killed many people, including Jesus. He hated religion. Your reasoning is fallacious. Enjoying something doesn't justify the something as good and right (or as bad and wrong).

  • @kyleotto44 Jesus didnt hate religion.

  • @AstralBluevideos 1 Corinthians 1:27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things--and the things that are not--to nullify the things that are,

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

  • @nakedfrenzy6241

Mathew 23:27-28 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

  • James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

  • This changed my life it helPd me to finally say no to porn god bless you John piper

  • I will say no to porn because "I shall not be in want" ps23.1

"I hidden his words within to not sin" ps119.11

But "my delight shall be in his law being my meditation" ps1.3

Because God gives wisdom for every good path to deliver from immoral people (pro2)

  • @Awakenedlight7 You are wiser than most people, I am twice your age but less wise. Keep your love for God as He deserves it and you deserve His love. God is more important than any passing earthly desire, it is something I struggle with every day, I pray that you pray for me.

  • say no to pornography to men and women

  • I love this, John Piper always hits the nail on the head

  • Does no one understand, Lord? Why do I feel alone in this?? I hate porn. Porn rots me from within. It destroys my soul and takes my eyes away from You. Why is there such arrogance and ignorance? Everyone, including myself justifies themselves because they cannot let go of what they love. Which is the flesh. Help me to let go, Jesus.

  • @candiceevans1 "with a smart mouthed", how can you understand anything with such atrocious grammar? the fact is you don't understand your own religion, and probably havent read half of your bible. Porn is not cheating, porn is not a sin, porn is irrelevant as far as religion goes, but the fake chrisitians like you decided to rap your grubby little hands around any subject you come across and try to make a crusade of it.

  • Jesus paid much too high a price on the cross when he died for our sins. Let us honor Him with our bodies, lives, and do everything for His glory. (Colossians 3:23) I'm so blessed to have Christ as my Savior. Please make this decision to accept Christ before you die because by then, it will be too late. Check out Jesus' parable of the Rich Man and the Beggar. (Luke 16: 19-31) Praying for all of you. Please pray for me too. Thanks and much love in Christ! -Matt

  • See 1 Corinthians 6:18 and Romans 6:13.

  • For a long time, I was living lukewarm in my Christian life, especially because of my pornography and masturbation addiction. This past Sunday, I gave my life to Christ forever. Please please please those of you who are stilling looking at pornography or are tempted by it take this as a loving but truthful warning. Porn is a lie, it is disgusting, and makes you feel guilty and horrible. This feeling comes because it is of darkness---Satan---not of truth and light---Christ. God bless all of you.

  • @Runnin4Him85 Actually porn makes me feel pretty damn good. My good old fashioned logic convinced me that this jesus and god nonsense was nothing more than a scare tactic used by old desert people to control other more gullible old desert people. I don't believe in marriage and monogamous relationships aren't for me (not saying that they're wrong for everyone, just not right for me), so when I can't find another consenting adult to have sex with, porn does a pretty good job.

  • @batmanpronz

Sure, porn makes people feel good, but feeling good doesn't mean it's morally right (or wrong). But you're missing out on so much satisfaction and you'll never know without experiencing an unconditional commitment to a single person in marriage.

And please share what logic convinced you that Jesus is nonsense? Logic and reason is what caused me to irresistibly trust in Jesus.

    grace & peace

  • So lose the bitterness, the hate and the negativity, it does nothing but poison your own soul, and for the first time in your life, give LOVE a try - u have nothing to lose. He knew you before the foundations of the earth, he knit you together in your mother's womb and brought you forth the day you were born.. he loves you and wants a relationship with you..accept Christ into your heart, talk to Him, tell Him how you feel, tell Him who has hurt you and ask Him to make it better and He will

  • But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because HE FIRST LOVED US" 1John 4:16-19

  • it isn't until you experience the love of Christ in your heart and his fullness that you will know what TRUE L<3VE is "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.

  • "Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and turn away from evil." Proverbs 3:7 Most of those who are against this sermon are busting out their own ideologies and standards which mean absolutely nothing. The only standard we should compare ourselves to is Christ's. And the others that are saying, "for love?? love never did anything for me? i was faithful and love cheated on me, so screw love" If nobody has ever told you, let me tell you this right now - that wasn't love, dear friend....

  • @OtherGonzo

According to who? You? "Professionals"? Psychologists? What is the objective standard of whether an action is moral or immoral?

  • @kyleotto44 yes, according to Psychologists. What is your standard for morality? Mine is how it affects others, that make sense to me.

  • @Dirufan69

Of course you would say yes to pornography, because you're addicted. You would never betray your love for pornography and all you believe it has done for you. A crack addict says yes to crack, but that doesn't mean it's good. Likewise a rapist would say yes to rape, yet it still remains that rape is never good.

If you're girlfriend had no objective standard for faithfulness, why would you expect her to be faithful? We are unfaithful by nature. You were unfaithful to her as well.

  • @kyleotto44 you are an utter imbecile, crack addiction is a chemical need, A NEED, that your body develops due to abuse of chemical levels in your brain, in other words fucking with the way your head works. Porn and masturbation are only addicting because theyre enjoyable, and the use of the word addict is only used due to the fact there is a lack of a word that describes the want to do something over and over for pure joy rather than a bodily need. take your religious bullshit, and shove it

  • @kyleotto44 I AGREE!!!

  • @kyleotto44 amen.

  • @Dirufan69 ..your just bitter and looking for someone to blame =(

  • @cece2182 you're* is the correct spelling, and no i'm not bitter at all, it's just annoying that you mindless imbeciles that can't get out of the middle ages continue to try and stop the world from evolving as a whole. But that's okay, i'm sure your contradictory and at times utterly blasphemous even by it's own standards religion will die out soon enough.

  • @Dirufan69 you still cheated on her mentally so you got to look at yourself first....... u would have ended up cheating on her eventually because if one of those girls you were looking at on the internet would have physically showed up one night you would have fucked her..... point blank period .... we are our thoughts... Judge yourself first...... you were fantasizing about other women..... is that being faithful..... HELL NO!!! what goes around comes around

  • @252Jabril no, see the difference is pornography keeps your lustful desire at bay, i dont love any pornstars, i havent fucked any pornstars, and had i had the opportunity to cheat on her with a porn star, i wouldnt have. i had many opportunities to be unfaithful to her and i shot all of them down, i was faithful to her physically and mentally, your standards of faithfulness are ridiculous and are what cause couples to despise each other, how about asking a relationship therapist about porn?

  • @Dirufan69 get your facts straight the context/purpose of the story straight before you make your final decision and walk away caus you know your fooling your self with what you just said.

  • @CallmeMell yeah, im fooling myself by pointing out a scenario ive experienced first hand that takes this little idea of no pornography and pretty much dispells it completely, btw maybe you should check your spelling before posting.

  • Great video!

  • First of all, thank you for posting.

Though the Scriptures posted at the end are true (and glorious), that particular series as a whole seems to miss the heart of Pastor Piper's message here. We are not merely to stop sinning because the elect do not continue in sin, but rather to stop settling for an inferior pleasure over the superior pleasure.

Perhaps you realize this. I only wish that the series at the end reflected it more clearly. Just a thought.

Nonetheless, thanks again for your post.

  • @goodbye81hello

great point! I should have posted more Scripture revealing that Christ is our treasure, and in Him is exceeding joy and pleasure.

Thank you for your wise, humble exhortation.

  • I've been struggling with masturbation for a few years... I've asked for forgiveness numerous times and that God would change my desiries but I can't seem to break free. I am ok sometimes for a week or two but then I give in again. Its a never ending cycle of I sin.. I don't sin. I really don't know what to do anymore... or if this is way it should be... I just feel so dirty and fully of shame... I can't break free

  • @ageofpoo me too bro...your not alone..i don't even know what to do anymore....it seems to be forever...when you think you're good our flesh come like a wreking ball demolishing everything..!!!

  • @TheVDN check out blazinggrace dot org they have an awesome article I just read yesterday on this topic ...

  • @ageofpoo think deep. you know when Christ clearly says. that Prayers will be answered and heard through FASTING AND PRAYER.. well people pray but dont fast. and he means DONT EAT ANYTHING. by this alone if u go a full day 24hours WITHOUT eating i garentee u that u wont be thinking about women or men. but food. this is the start. 2nd then u must acknowledge a fast from habits. like viewing TV or PC. i tell u now at one point i had no TV. or PC and it was almost instant that my urges slowly left

  • @ageofpoo Confess it to someone you know, a friend, and ask him or her to help you. It has to be a close friend.

  • im a living testimony. i've been set free!!! John 8:32

dont let the devil chain you. porn is a prison.

  • amen brother john p. amen

  • I need some help though, the more days i go without ejaculating the bigger my urges, and when im on the internet i have a tendency to go on a porn website,Will these urges ever go down?Someone please respond.

  • Do you desire Christ more than you desire the sin of pornography and masturbation?

Only by complete surrendering to Christ can we be freed from any sin, but yes, Christ can and has and will continue to free His people from lust as well as sin as a whole.

Ask Christ to change your heart and your desires.

  • thanks man after watching this video i somehow feel not as big of an addiction i have sliped once however i went 4 days so far without any master baition or pornography

  • Take courage man, and seek God as your fulfillment and pleasure. Porn will not satisfy, it merely lies and sets you up to fall deeper.

    Proverbs 5

    1 Cor 10:13

  • @imhood37 Yes yes yes, they do go away, Brother If we confess our sins he not only forgives us but he washes us taking away our sins and gives us the strength to be free from being a slave to our desires.

Another thing Make much Of Jesus....Know the depths of your sins but also know the depths of what it truely means to be Justified, Sanctified, and Forgiven. The truth will set you free and he who is free is free indeed.

  • It will never go away entirely, but if you hang in there the physical urges will get better the longer you leave it, because the more your body ejaculates the more semen it makes, you only need to masturbate if you masturbate regularly. Hang in there, keep focused on Jesus and don't let your guard down

  • Read the Word of God my friend. I have the same issues. Only through God can we be cured.

  • that's a good question.........one of the phrases i like to use is.....in the bible....it says if your eye causes you to sin...to cut it out....well....not literally.....but meaing that....you need to find the route to the problem.....the route is...something triggers it off.....it's availability on the internet......that's what causes the temptation....you have some options.....if you have internet at home......limit the amount of time you use......and.....write down what you want to achieve

  • .......before you go on inet.....ie check email...etc......don't leave the computer turned on once you have done this....and only turn on computer once a day ..twice at most....you don't need it any more.......also another thing i do ....is i look at the passion of the christ whipping scene....when i get tempted...cos it reminds me....of the pain i cause God....

  • Comment removed

  • @imhood37 yes it will im 14 i have the same problem but im going to stop it with christ help before i get to old i failed to day it you know what i mean but im getting back up and liveing for christ i had every thing that you should do i but i gave in and now im going back to these so i can be free and get closer to christ

  • @imhood37 think deep. you know when Christ clearly says. that Prayers will be answered and heard through FASTING AND PRAYER.. well people pray but dont fast. and he means DONT EAT ANYTHING. by this alone if u go a full day 24hours WITHOUT eating i garentee u that u wont be thinking about women or men. but food. this is the start. 2nd then u must acknowledge a fast from habits. like viewing TV or PC. i tell u now at one point i had no TV. or PC and it was almost instant that my urges slowly left

  • @imhood37 You can always use the help of Jesus' wise words.

"If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched." (Mark 9:43)

  • Icant stop thinking about porno beacuse theres so many attracting lustful things on t.v. =(

  • then don't watch TV... Don't waste your time, your life is valuable. Put your energy and enjoyments into useful productive things. God's gifet everyone in some way, put your gifts to use. And get to know Jesus and see how awesome he is, and how much more enjoyable knowing him is rather than lust.

  • Nerdz, you need to be renewed in mind. God has done a great work in me and I have won the war against pornography through him who strengthens me. Seek Jesus, and when I say this I don't mean "only seek him when tempted" or "pray before you go to sleep", seeking Jesus is more like falling on your face all night without sleep calling upon him in repentance. .

"SEEK the LORD while he may be found...Let the WICKED forsake his thoughts and return to the LORD and God will forgive"(Isaiah 55:6-7).

  • great video! I have been free of lust/self-gratification for a while now ---finished the "way of purity" course on setting captives free---All Glory to God!

If the Son sets you free you will be free indeed!

  • @Bearkiller777 Hi, I have had difficult with pornography in the past and it's always a mental gymnastic compromise, just this once, or just this photo and it has happened in times when I was depressed and my focus was on material things and I would say the most tempting time for men is writing after great success. True? Great success on the job, won that game, found exactly what you were looking for after a long search. Recently though God has pulled me away from this can I get "way of purity

  • @Masaries1234 go to the website setting captives free and then if you click on Way of purity course you can sign up for free. youtube won't let me post URL in comments but i will PM You the link and you can sign up from there.

  • Thank you so much for posting this bro!

Your awesome man. Stay strong in Christ.

  • All glory to God my brother.

All people must here of the freedom from the bondage of sin that is in Christ alone.

I am sick of the lie that "every guy/girl struggles with lust or masturbation".

That is absolutely a lie. God has, is, and will continue to free His people from the bondage of sin.
