  • he looks so chillplaying this.

  • ahhahaha exelente guitarrista y divertido :)

  • SIN DUDA EL MEJOR DE TODOS "SYU" RULE´S

  • 2:18 buena tecnica... me gusto mucho

  • omg

  • OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • holy mother of god

  • syusyu rules

  • He played Eruption isn't that just proof he is one of the best guitarists of all time, if not at least way up there?

  • @schuka5 actually it sounds better than eddies original version

  • @Aiviymatoc I meant in a technical playing wise, not sound.

  • @schuka5

    uh, no

  • What does he use to do that effect at 5:22?

  • @TraceurT

    whammy pedal !?

  • nothing anormal...

  • This guy is amazing! The other great guitarist from Japan is Akio Shimizu of Anthem.

  • power!!

  • and he makes it all look so easy

    dang

  • hah awesome technical stress was next XD

  • amazing

  • Sad no one rarely pays attention to Japanese metal, because they normally think Japan is either gay, or technological fag's, or something like that, one of the best guitarists I have listened to in a while.

  • woow what is he playing at 3:47???

  • The best parts are at 2:20 and at 6:24 ^____^ Syu is the best guitarist ever!!!!!

  • can someone please tell me what is he playing at 4:33 ? PLEASE !

  • syu

  • no mamss syu es la lecheee es el mejorrr mujajjajaja XD

  • its so annoying D<

  • @miyavi0keksas sorry... but i mean that annoying about 1:15 - 3:37

  • @miyavi0keksas D:>

    its not annoying!! its NICE!!

  • Actually he does use his pinky, but not as much as a classically-trained guitarist should. In his sweeps, tappings, rhythmics and proggy interludes he uses his pinky a lot, but it's true that he keeps it mostly still while shredding like this. But hey, after all, if the pattern you're playing doesn't require a long finger extension, and is confortable for you to play with just three fingers, why make it unconfortable? ^^ I say so as a guitar player myself.

  • Trop bien !

  • truth is

syu uses his pinky only when he really has to :D

other than that, he can handle everything with the other fingers

  • Hey he played the intro of Eruption o_o

  • uhh, no he didnt

  • I can see why. With the patterns he uses, he definitely "should" use his pinky, and he probably would if he were taught by a professional, but he taught himself to play, and this is his style. Same with the way he (And Takayoshi Ohmura) anchors his pinky in his picking hand. It's generally accepted as a bad habit for guitarists, but they do it anyways. I know I do, lol. But then again, I try to emulate Syu's picking style.

  • @Reoreyh It says on Wiki that he played violin before guitar. Could that have anything to do with him not using his pinky that much?

  • He doesn't need to use his pinky, lol.

  • does anybody have or know the tabs of the tapping-part at 2:20:)

  • @franzen91

    i do

its from a young guitar dvd that he did

send me a message and ill get them to you

  • @franzen91 This is the only video on the internet, where we can see him play it, clean, fixed angle and TWICE! (With TABS in the description) ^.^

    /watch?v=rvFax2mwRy0&feature=related

Here is a video, where Syu have used some guitar solo technique, by Eddie Van Halen, as many others guitarists used in their concerts, when they play solo.

    /watch?v=QLX8iY95UgA&feature=related

If you ask me, so has Syu the best solo concert.

  • Syu is one of the best guitarrist i've ever heard

The other great guitarrist is Jani Liimatainen

Both of them are GODS of guitar

  • how do you do that lick at 0:58??

  • Comment removed

  • @S1ppy No, I don't think so

  • @boomboomshuck1 OH my bad, I wasnt even watching the right part. Im not sure, but it looks like he is doing a full bend on one string, and playing the two strings above. Not sure which frets though.

  • @S1ppy yea, he plays way too fast to try and figure it out.

  • he bends, then does a combo of pull offs, and then ends with a bend

  • Fuck I want an ESP now. I hear the defect rate is higher in them though, compared to brands here like Jackson, Gibson, etc.

  • japanese randy rhoads

  • faster harder^^

  • Omg.... *cums* So sexy in HQ

  • holy shit xP

  • damn them Asians can really shred!!!!

  • YEAHHHHHHHHHH \m/

  • What's the song that starts to get played at the end?

  • no song that i know of, and i have all the cds

  • it's just a bunch of improv and a compilation of all many of his solos throughout the albums....

like 2:17 is from fate of the sadness

    etc

  • the end part HAS to have been inspired by the intro to Extreme's He Man Woman Hater. it's the only ever time i've heard that sound.

    but that was F***ING incredible!!!!

  • I just love this guy! His skills are incredible...Galneryus rulez! I love their music....

  • Syu...a living legend for sure!

  • 6:24 The most beautiful. Clean part was also good. 2:21 love it too. Yea! Amazing solo

  • God u gatta luv them asians Go Syu!

  • He got the beginning of his solo from a solo that Norifumi Shima did back in... '99, I believe. He pulled off a better overall solo, though. 2:19 made me cry.

  • WTF, Yu-To´s screaming "Pikachu"???

    It´s a joke xP

  • Comment removed

  • so he uses the tuning feature of the volume/pan pedal to go between and one thats four octaves up??? creative!!!!!!!!!!

  • do anyone know what brand is his guitar ?

  • ESP

  • ESP Crying Star.... only available for the Japanese market, but you can order it...

The Edwards version of this guitar is less expensive, and has kind of the same features (not handcrafted like the ESP but still has the same mics and the 27 fret model)

check out the japanese page of ESP and you'll see some guitars that you'd die for! =)

  • o I love the ESP japan guitars!!

All of them look amazing they're like works of art

  • whoa amazing it's like a japanese Paul Gilbert

  • This video is awesome, thanks for uploading! (Y)

  • japo halen xD =)

  • damn this guy rocks.

and i would kill for his signature guitar

    too bad it's $4,000

  • 0:23-0:30 is the exact lesson guitar lick that syu taught at watch?v=-TG9sOVL3XU crazy

  • I love this solo... Syu is the best!

  • i love syu, satoshi katada, gentaro satomura, and my favourite takayoshi ohmura...damn...the japanese are awesome...

  • he's great, the new Akira Takasaky.

  • He is quite simply the best....

  • mmaayyyteee.

    he is awessommely great

  • This is really awesome!!!

  • he is the best asian guitarist.

  • wat does race have to do with it?

  • well they have a few asian guitarists and i think he is the best one.thats what i meant.

  • lol "they have a few asian guitarists" Ignorant much?

  • okay whatever they have a lot of asian guitarists and i think he is the best.stfu.

  • the one from Anthem is better than Syu

  • your opinion.

  • akio's got alot of years on syu

we cant compare syu who is 25 to 40 and up veterans lol

  • wat does yu tu say in the begining i dnt speak japanes

  • on guitar...syu!

    i think...

  • o okay thanks

  • from 24 seconds to 27 seconds sounds so nice

  • now, this is why this boy would kick yngwie malmsteen's ass, and i ll tell you why - although he's a neoclassical guitarist (being his influences malmsteen and gilbert, as said before), Syu showed in this solo lots of 'rock deep understanding', and and entertained the crowd with much ore than just arppeggios, sweep picking...

  • @aerographer malmsteen is boring and never changes , he does the same things over and over , but Joe satriani would destroy this guy. but Syu is good :)

  • @TheRedDash noooo buckethead would destro this guy,,,, but satriani is sick

  • @MrXmannymanx buckethead cant with syu.

  • not that tihs man i good, but if i was him i would find my self a waah-waah and more distortion and a heavyer sound! but that's just my opinion, dimebag darrell is the greatest f*ckin guitarist ever if you ask me! but i can't deni that this guy is good! (sorry about the shity english xD)

  • If that happened, he would sound a lot like Zakk Wylde.

  • I have no idea what Syu's influence is but I sorta hear some Paul Gilbert influence when he plays clean. Honestly, I prefer Syu over Zakk since he's more technical.

  • zack wylde and dimebag had there own style i perfer syus jus cos its not pinch harmonics every 2 seconds

  • i hate too much pinchies

  • I thumbs up you.

  • WOW, that's some sick shredding.

  • yea i agree with you, it does seem he has gotten better

  • Yeah!!!! :P
