@simplegrl11589 : The chorus is pretty damn simple, actually. If you can't pick it out by ear or by watching someone else (like me in this video), then I'm sure there are some correct tabs out there. Thanks for the kudos.
@3rdear haha actually i just found the chords i thought it would be alot harder but for some reason im having trouble singing and picking the chorus at the same time i never thought i would learn any rush songs but ive been learning away for the past 2 weeks lol i learned lime light in about 2 hours besides the solo im pretty damn shocked i can actually play it since ive always been a 3 chord person lol but i guess when you love somthing anough it happens naturally... i just saw them in concert
Hey Kurt this is awesome! This was basically a perfect cover of this song as far as the rhythm guitar part goes. Also, I don't see how you could've done the solo any better without a whammy bar. Cool video!
Thanks Ray. I'll do another viddy of the solo on a guitar that has a whammy soon. I also need to tweak out my delay for the sustaining note at the end of the solo.
I thought the guitar sound was great! This computer is connected to some cheap speakers but the sound was good here. I'm with CaptBart, the playing on the rythem was spot on.
You really want me to drag out the double-neck? Oy! Okay, sometime before 2009, I'll do Xanadu for you. It's been a while and I need the practice on that one anyway.
Well actually Kurt I did think the stripes on the couch clashed abit with the guitar paint job and that poster behind you...disturbing! Other than that I'd get new throw pillows and maybe a tapestry for the wall.lol. I'm sorry..Great job, the note that gets held didn't is that just you don't have the FX for it? Your playin' was spot on but the distortion seemed to lack thickness, I suppose would be the word.
>> the note that gets held didn't is that just you don't have the FX for it?
Oh I have the FX for it, but in the beginning I mentioned that the focus in this case was the rhythm guitar part, so I wasn't concerned about nailing the solo. I'll do another that focuses on the solo in a separate video.
Thanks. But the more I hear it, the more I think a different amp model than the Mesa may have been better. Something more like a HiWatt or Marshall JCM800. Those may have gotten closer to the original sound if I spent more time tweaking. The hot sound seems a little too gritty & the low gain chorus sound needs just a skosh more volume & a little less gain, I think. Maybe that's the price of using amp modeling toys instead of the real thing, but I wasn't about to muck around with an amp that day.
nice job man

Yeah, I'm having second thoughts about my choice of amp & gain settings for this one.
