This just makes me sick to my stomach. Where is the justice for the sheriffs wife, for the other "high ranking persons" wife? For way too many times, domestic violence doesn't end with one incident, but in many cases with the death of the victim. This needs to be looked into by someone, please before its too late.
This story was so long ago---- I thought most people who knew of it just kind of swept it under the carpet as the Sheriff had wanted. HANDS DOWN to Laurie Bisch for bringing it up! No leader of any department should be allowed to just sweep something like this under the carpet as did Gillespie! He is a bad name when it comes to LVMPD- officers embarrassed to work for him, shamed to say they work for LVMPD as it is him who is ruining this department! Laurie Bisch for Sheriff!
I'm a regular Clark County citizen who has not heard of this story. I've read comments after stories in the RJ online alluding to it but didn't know anymore. It sickens me. More people need to know about this. Why won't a "journalist" cover it? We know from the RJ Bisch paid for her daughter's friend's ER visit which suggested Bisch is a quasi felon for doing a good deed.

Tell us Sheriff, what is the difference between a common street thug and an elected official when it comes to a particular crime? While it may be true the thug takes an oath to his ilk, at least we are not paying him to commit his crimes via our tax dollars. You gave us your word, you chose to freely take an oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution, and you freely have chosen to dishonor that oath.
I don't work for a political party or any candidate running in Nevada, but I know what an oath is. It is your word, a solemn vow before almighty God, and in the case of our current Sheriff Douglas C. Gillespie, an oath to support and defend the Constitution of these United States. You Sir swore this oath, and like many of our time have shamed yourself and abused the power that was entrusted to you by the hard working, sovereign citizens of Nevada.
