no special cd deck, all decks can be used as long as you have the timecode cds. you can use it with Denon dn-s3500, dn-s3700, every pioneer CDJ possible. Basically anyting with RCA outputs and accept CD timecode or vinyl timecode literally.

The USB interface is built into the mixer and it comes with two(2) timecode vinyl's and one(1) timecode cd. I own this mixer and love it. Wrote about in my blog:

Thats it??! Thats the 'effects section'?! If you're gonna pay so much for a high end mixer you'd think they'd do a better job! and it looked so awkward to use the effects. if it aint broke, dont fix it.

Is that the name they've given to the effects on this mixer or is that an external unit like an EFX? I've never heard of it.

Looking back, i may have been a bit harsh. The guy did CLEARLY know very little about the mixer or had no experiance in using it..... maybe if demonstrated by a pro it would seem a bit more appealing.
