thats not normal theres somthing wrong with that tractor it should not do that i have a couple two cylinders and they dont run like that its probably somthing with the carb ajustments
@johndeere528 I don't know why it backfires. Wants to run a bit rich, load screw all the way out. Tractor has threw a flame though ever since we have had it, had a rebuilt carberator on it this fall, had gotton one rebuilt before and it backfired so bad it blew off the rain cap. Probably as much as anything it needs the valves adjusted. It is just the way it is, cannot stop it no matter what adjustment on the carbureator I try, and it has backfired with every carbureator it has ever had on it.
