1 year later this still is horrifically bad- fuck Man In The Moon- a complete egregious error of erroneous proportions.
I mean what the fuck- let's so some fucking blow, man. Yo, let's get some Jersey chicks, an 8 ball of blow, a bunch of DOM and will tell 'em we're huge rock stars.
no way is man on the moon great- puhleeze. roye had a brain fart w/ these joisey nutbags.
i have the ariola 7" of this- the picture is w/them all up against a black 1980 caddy all w/leather pants. they look like the ultimate coked up group- blech!
I never bought this album when it came out because it wasn't "the real" Nektar. Well, about a year ago I found an original German vinyl pressing, and it sounds fantastic! It's now become one of my FAVOURITE Nektar albums. The players are exceptional, Roye's songwriting and singing are at a peak, and David Prater's drumming is fantastic. Sure, they all look very 80's, BUT IT WAS the 80's. If this album had proper distibution in it's day, Too Young to Die could have been a radio success,
As a radio programmer, I agree with you. "Too Young to Die", as well as, "Can't Stop You Now", "We", and "Angel", had the possibility of being hits had the album been distributed properly...it never came across my desk. Man in the Moon is still one of Roye's favorites to perform. David was an awesome drummer...and Carmine Rojas on bass was spectacular!
very good music from Nektar

Very sad.
Some things are better left buried.
