Alright. I did all this but now my mouse isnt working for some reason. I like using my mouse pad sometimes instead of the tablet. I don't know what to do D:
@TomWellingFan09 That's a problem I haven't been able to fix, unfortunately. I guess GIMP can only focus on the Tablet or mouse at a single time. To fix it, just go to Input Devices, and hit Reset Saved Input Device Settings to Default Values or something along those lines. That should put the focus on the mouse again =/
mkay, so i'm pretty sure i've done everything right, but when i went to system preferences, but instead of "Wacom Tablet" it just says "Bamboo," and pretty much everything is the same, sept for the three boxes.... Sooo?
@dasmonkeyman Well, it makes the physical tablet sync up with the active window, or the whole screen respectively. If you have it set to window, the edges of the tablet will go as far as the active window. If set to screen, the edges of the tablet go as far as the whole screen. (:
i'm not exacly using a wacoom tablet .. i'm using a Aiptek. And when i'm trying to install it ( with a CD ) it's stops on the instalation ''/ help ? if u can ofc =3
I have a bamboo tablet, and for sure I know I have installed the right driver and everything. When I check system preferences, it doesn't have "Wacom Tablet" but I do have "Pen Tablet"
I have a wacom bamboo fun tablet, i've downloaded the latest driver, but it still doesnt work. In system preferences there aren't those three things that say tablet tool and application. And when I'm in Gimp under preferences and click the "configure extended input devices" button, it says there are none. Any suggestions?
Thanks a ton! I have one that shows up as "pen tablet" too. So I just got the latest driver, and went and changed all the options in the GIMP preferences and I was good to go!
The tutorial seems really helpful but I get a Pen Tablet image in my System Preferences rather than a Wacom one. And the settings are differen't so Gimp still doesn't seem to pick up my tablet.
Well, I just got a new Wacom Tablet (the Bamboo) and mine now shows up as Pen Tablet too, so now the System preferences layout is different for it. Now I don't need to add what applications i want compatibility with, I just need to make sure I have the right driver, download the latest version of GIMP, then skip to the part where you set the tablet with GIMP. Hope this helps! If not post problems.
Hmm... When I try to configure the input devices on GIMP, I only get "pen" and Quartz Pointing Device. I just downloaded GIMP for Mac so I'm pretty sure it's the right one and I know I have the correct driver. I can move the cursor with the tablet freely but it won't let me click on anything on the GIMP windows.
hai. i got another problem. do you know how to use zoom on your tablet. it seems that i cant use it. and i can see that all of my hot key can not be use. do you know the solution for this.
i have a bamboo tablet and I cant do part 2. And would this work with other applications?

When I go on the interface of my driver, it appears to be different from yours. I can't really find the equivalent of the plus sign...

what does the part 3 setting to window or screen actually do?
thanks :)

Would this tutorial work for windows xp or windows 7 too?
glaceon101able 1 year ago
@glaceon101able Eh, I'm not really sure. You still need to download a driver for your platform, but I'm not sure how well my instructions would work.

First, make sure you have the right driver (OSX 10.6, 10.5 etc), and the latest version of GIMP.

Under GIMP click on the brush icon, and in the toolbox click the arrow that says "pressure sensitivity" and voile! ;)
