I played the original on the PS2, I played it on the 360 with the HD collection, and own it on the 3DS. I dont remember hearing this music on the 360 or the 3DS and I didn't get to The Boss on the PS2 version.

Cause from what I remember on many occasions in mgs 2:sons of liberty, ocelot had spasms if you will where liquid took over ocelot and started moving through him and talking, and liquid even stated that through his arm being grafted onto him he controlled him if I'm not mistaken

It's not the music that plays when you fight the boss, that part is quiet until the last minutes when they start playing the snake eater son. I personaly remember this one mostly from the cutsene when Snake and Eva decides to confront Volgin controling the front part of the shagohod. Never the less it's still an epic soundtrack.

Man, I wish this had played during The Boss's battle. It doesn't. It plays before you have to take down the Shagohod after Volgin emerges from it. The Boss's battle is largely silent until a little while in, when Snake Eater starts to play.

@128daz One of the great things about that, is that many of them acknowledge each other. The cobras for example, many of the younger "MGS1/2/4" bosses learned from these guys techniques.

And they honor each other, like sniper wolf using Fortune's rail gun. All the MGS story archs intertwine alot, hehe.

This is Volgin's final theme, not the Boss' theme.

Dunno why this is considered the final boss theme. I guess it's officially named that by the creators because Volgin was the final badguy you had to face, but YouTubers shouldn't show the Boss' picture. She wasn't even at the scene or fight that this song played in.

That song you're talking about isn't THIS song, though. THIS song plays while you fight Volgin. The song you're talking about uses mainly violins in the orchestra, not trumpets. It's a version of the Snake Eater theme.
