About the ATM's I think i found out why they have working hours, because usually in Europe they're open 24h every day. In my city(Beppu-shi, Oita-ken) the ATM's work till 19:00 everyday and on Holydays they're closed because it's not easy to be an ATM machine. So many people useing you everyday, touching you, makeing you give them money, it's not an easy life for a machine :D. It looks like in Japan machines also need a break :D.
