VERY bad advice from MSF!!! The look over the shoulder is not safe at all. In the time it takes for a rider to look over his/her shoulder and regain focus in front of them, the vehicle ahead could have slammed on the brakes creating an unnecessary collision. NEVER take your eyes off the road ahead of you when you are behind traffic!
@FindlaySucks but if u don't check your sholder you could ride into the path of a vehicle overtaking you and if you give youself space to the vehicle in front of you a 1 second check if farily safe i ride bikes and had friends not do shoulder checks and almost end up a hood ornament the risk in a sholder check is not much more then checking your speedo.
Does anyone remember a motorcyle PIF reminding bikers to "Look Back", before overtaking, turning right, etc? I'm sure it finished with a large group of bikers all turning as one to look behind them.
