I enjoyed this film a great deal and found it very similar in high quality to MAX MANUS and BLACK BOOK, which are other WW2 films on a similar theme.

Most disappointing war film of recent years has been RED BARON. I was so looking forward to that (being an avid aviation fan), but it was mediocre and the story was mostly falsified. His final flight was not even shown !

Get the DVD of 1966's THE BLUE MAX starring George Peppard instead, as it's THE BEST aviation war film ever made in my opinion.

The film is largely true, but one part is a bit strange. The brother commited suicide in the film just beofre D-Day. In real life, he died in 1974. Remarkable recovery!

Using red cross ambulance as a cover is a war crime. I do not think that this was real story.

apple. It was based on fact. Maurice Buckmaster was certainly a real figure in WW2. The women were working for FANY which played a key part in the resistance. The film is much more factual than most. As for using a red cross ambulance, it certainly is a war crime, but then again, so is sabotage. As far as torture was concerned, the English were probably more ruthless than the Germans. They tortured prisoners on the gallows.

I watched the movie this weekend.

The girls are not bad but the story, mh not so good. Just Propaganda, but i think the movie was very exciting. The women in uniforms were great. ^^

Those women had more balls than some men to commit war in the shadows against the likes of the SS and the SD. Had they been captured,instant death would have been pleasurable compared to being deported to Natzweiler and the like. There, they would have most likely become Nacht und Nebel. Night and fog. They simply would cease to exist. Tortured and then killed, or experimented on then killed. The SOE even more often than the OSS sent women in behind enemy lines. Outstanding!

Most of the OSS and SOE agents would likely have been transported either to Columbia Haus for Gestapo torture in Berlin, or else sent to Mathausen, where they would have been shot with a single bullet to the nape of the neck. The Nazi expression back then was Kugel Erlass, or Bullet Decree, giving legitimation to the act of killing 'terror aviators' and the like. Nuremburg court proceedings against Nazi War Criminals after the war was over addressed this practice of Kugel Erlass.

Standard procedure against all unlegal combatants before 1949. The Americans killed Germans spies when they catched them, too. And the Sovjet Russians even killed legal combatants from the first day of WWII on, f. e. they executed 15,000 Polish POWs in Katyn (in tthe Nuremberg Trial, they blamed the Germans for this war crime). Even today unlegal combatants don't have the same rights as regular POW's, see Guantanamo.

Stupid movie , your stupid SOE and OSS operatives sacraficed every to help the cause during world war 2 . They parachuted behind enemy lines , in enemy occupied countries to carry out actions on behalf of the Allies . Looks a good film .
