I don't know. If Westcountry want to continue the opt-outs (which have been one of the most popular aspects of their regional service), further transmitter work will need to be carried out.
When ITV launched on Sky a few years back, Tyne Tees managed to carry out further works on the Bilsdale transmiiter, meaning that Sky viewers could watch the Southern opt-out of North East Tonight
If anyone has a copy of the ITV50 Westcountry programme then you see the notorious proposal clip, apparently the relationship didn't last too long though. :-)
umm...Westcountry has NEVER had a local transmission system.
Although continuity was locally produced until October 2002, actual transmission was outsourced from day 1; it was handled by HTV Wales from January 1 1993 until their facilities were closed in 2003ish at which time Westcountry transmission was moved to LNN.

Linda Ward was perhaps most notable for her time at Westcountry because at the end of a bulletin one night, she proposed to her boyfriend on air.
Incidentally, Westcountry is the only ITV region to still have a local transmission system because of the local news opt-outs.

Do you think the opt-outs will have to go due to analogue being switched off? The east of the region gets the south local news on my Sky box.

I was talking about the local news. The opt-out switching is done at Plymouth.
