Yep, that's why name and icon is Sharkie from 1 jan 2008 here on YT, trip was a dream fulfilled.

Oz is very interesting, esp if you like dangerous animals while discovering the landscape :-)

I have one other video about Oz diving, was with Google Earth and photo's of the trip.

You are right, the moray had every reason to bite, was very clumsy handling by the divemaster imo.

Fish was cornered but it's a fish he handled and fed quite often there but even then, we should not even remotely think of trying this... Greetz from Holland,

Hehe, I did my diving on several places on the globe.

Morays I kept my eye on, not the slow swimming sharks at daytime :-)

Hawaii has tiger sharks, never seen, hardly want to either but they are on my must see list regretfully.

Snorkeling brings nearly the same as scubadobadoo.

That extra bit is spectacular, been in underwater caves and things like chimneys, really cool :-)

I wish I had filmed all my diving, hehe, not advised but when I was bored in earlier days it was not uncommon for me to go diving on my own :-D

The smaller sharks pose no threat. There was only one shark a bit dangerous, it's a grey whaler. It is in the middle of the ocean and all can be seen there. I was hoping to see hammerheads for the 1st time...

Quality is great after 15 years, did not expect this at all. Putting it on DVD costed 30$ but when I make 3 vids of this trip I find 10$ for each episode acceptable. Spending money on a great hobby, I find money well spend.

This was in the midle of the ocean. it costed more than half a day to get there.

It's a wild place, all can be expected there.

I was hoping to see hammerhead sharks there but they were not around this time. The big b/w fishes are called Potato Cod in Oz by the shape of the spots on their body.

I am still an underwater fan by this: When I was ten orso my mother called me to see a show on tv. It was Cousteau, there I was hooked. Spend much time in the library reading his books and seeing his pics from then.

It is still my hobby. I have many books about the sea and read them. Esp like to learn the names of all the species.

is fantastic. that spotted monster looks to be as big as some of those sharks. YIKES, I would have been be scart sh tless. lol awesome footage and spectacular scenes that are crisp and clear for a 15yr. old VHS tape.

That shark is really visible in Google Earth. I read about it and started searching. Glad I found it, great intro for a Sharkie vid :-D

Amazing quality for that VHS. When I saw it in Media player it was very bad but after processing in WMM it became like this, very happy with it.

Sharks ban be dangerous but the water is very clear here. I think most accidents happen in murky water. The 3m+ ones you always gotta keep an eye on though...

Hehe, cool stuff huh ? Happened to find info of that spot and started hobbying. This spot is really visible in Google Earth, can give you the coords if you want. I'm afraid that this will become my intro for all feature vids :-D

Gele snorkel en loodgordel.

Dit was idd een trip voor alleen gevorderden. Ik hab jarenlang op een duikvereniging gezeten en wekelijk zware zwemtraining.

Op zich kun je met A en B goed genoeg zwemmen. Onderwaterzwemmen is zelfs eenvoudiger. Ik zou je ongetraind mee durven nemen bij een eenvoudige duik.

Met ervaring voel je je alleen veilger. Fles leeg op 20 m, geen probleem. Ik kon destijds 50 m onderwater zwemmen.

Dat is het belangrijkste verschil.

This is a 15 year old VHS tape I put on DVD. I did this 3 day divingtrip from Cairns. I want to make several vids with it.

Heel mooi.....ik kon natuurlijk niet wachten tot hij optimaal kwaliteit had...kijk em gewoon nog eens.

Was jij daar ook? Het lijkt me erg mooi om het onderwater gebeuren van zo kort bij te beleven. Maar dan moet je natuurlijk wel beetje geoefend zijn. Daar zit ik dan met mijn diploma A en B. hahahaha.
