The map wouldn't necessarily rip from sledding, it was thick paper with a plastic laminate. I think it would hold.

@tantoedge Actually, that one hole seemed a wee bit too big for a 7.62x39mm round. Presumably most of the guards would've been aiming for the box of the balloon, since the holes shouldn't have been big enough to cause too much problems.

I think I've got an explanation for the guys not shooting more at the balloon - by that point, they realized who they were dealing with, and the last volley was a final test to see if the rumors about MacGyver were true. He passed with flying colors, and they all acknowledged just how hard they'd been pwned and stopped their evil ways.
