call me crazy, but I love the way the women dressed back then. There is no advertizing of what they had. You bad to judge them by their personality and intelect, not on their body.
This video is from the movie "Girls Town" made in 1959, Paul Anka starred in this movie. The band in the background is not really playing. The women in the movie are beautiful, course I was but 2 years old at the time the movie was filmed.
@OtakuGatsu90 I rechecked my sources and find that Frank Zappa's father was half Arab. The rest is Italian. It would be a stretch to classify him with the arab performers. Thanks for the correction.
@John1948Ten Remember Jamie Farr from MASH? He is of Arab background. His birth name is Jameel Farah. I think Paula Abdulla has some Arab decent also with Syrian blood from her father. Actor Tony Shaloub. Check out the Arab American Institute website for an extensive list of famous people with Arab background. It is really interesting!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy.
A Top 5 hit for Paul Anka at the very end of December 1959. Well, the fifties are at an end and what a decade it was. Four and a half years earlier, Bill Haley and His Comets struck a chord with teens with Rock Around the Clock, and then Elvis Presley came along with Heartbreak Hotel. What would this new decade bring as far as music went? Only time would tell. Rock and Roll Forever!
@mkl62 Oh you said everything that's in my heart right now. End of the '50's December 1959....and to add to all of it, I experienced the first feelings of love with someone that I've never really gotten over.
@bon1042 I will always remember the Happy Days episode where Potsie sang Put Your Head on My Shoulder to Joannie. Joannie was smitten with him and came on to him. Potsie politely had to tell her no. Of course, Joannie was devasted, but would later marry Chachi in the series finale. HD was a good show, even though it fell off after Ron Howard left. Too bad they don't make shows like that anymore.
@mkl62 i remember it too...is in that episode that i' ve heard for the first time that song that becames immediately one of my favourite songs of ever!!!! and happy days is my favourite show... :-)

Why does PA have that wierd, maniacal grin when he sings, "it's the time to cry?"
The platinum blonde swinging her pony would definitely eat him whole. Ah, the fifties....

But I just can't get over the fact that "Anka" is "Duck" in swedish... He will always be "Paul Duck" to me...
