Look at it this way. The M6 is a fast ass car for all of the technology that it has into it. The Zo6 is a piece of Shit compared to the M6. Sure the M6 has a V10 when the ZO6 has a V-8. The Bmw weighs 3909 (lbs) while the Zo6 weighs 3180 lb. Thats almost a 1000 weight difference. So the M6 kicks ass with all of the technology that it has and the ZO6 can go suck a fat one.

A M6 isn't in the same class, & stock for stock it should get walked on. this M6 was modded and had 560-570Hp at the flywheel. plus the guy in the vette is a slow shifter as some people already said.
in this case it was a great race - the 500Hp LS7 kept up as well with a modded M6 with 560-570Hp at the flywheel !
and the best thing is ... you can get a C6 Z06 for less than half the price of a STOCK M6 :D
and I also think stock to stock the C6 Z06 would win. stock M6 got 507Hp @ much more weight and less torque.

but one thing matter is weight m6 is 250kg heavier. For example wiesmann GT mf5 with 5.0v10 with 507hp is faster than z06 everywhere and wiessman made the same time on track as zr1. Only thing what bmw needs its reduce some weight:) BMW have the best engines in the world

Damn, that Bimmer is fast as hell to be able to outrun a Z06. Only 55 more HP and 800lbs heavier and it still wins. Quite remarkable. Cool cars!

Yeah I agree to all the people who say a stock M6 will loose with a stock Z06, or this modded M6 with a cammed Z06. But don't forget one thing, in the M6 you can take 3 people with you and their luggage, and race a F430, a Gallardo, a SL63AMG or a Z06.

This is bullshit, watch the video "Corvette Z06 0-190 MPH" and and you'll see how it really accelerates. Plus if it it was a real race and the M6 did really win the M6 starts at $101k and has several thousand more into it. That's at least a $30k difference in the cars, put that money into the Z06 and see what id does... OWNS EVERYTHING!

Don't be surprised by BMW power...especially an M6 that without any mods puts 507HP. If the weight ratio was the same between Z06 and M6...Z06 would not have a chance against M power....this Z06 is over 750lb lighter. M6 has power and luxury...and with that u have to compromise something ;)

Head and cam Z06 are known to put down 600rwhp. The stock Z06 was racing a pretty modded M6 and considering how much it is to work and mod a BMW it would take significantly less to surpass those number this m6 is putting down with an aftermarket cam and heads which will set you back about 5 grand at most on an lsx motor

The 2007 Corvette C6 ZO6 has a STOCK top speed of just over 180...
the BMW M6 has a top speed ( bone stock with the Speed Governer off) of about 195-200!! with a 0-60 in 4.7 seconds Corrvette couldnt touch a BMW.

M6 walks the Z06 in "Race 2". You are right, Z06 is faster stock for stock, but ill give credit to the Z06 for hanging with the M6 for that long. M6 has a crazy top end for what it has, not meant for acceleration...waaaayyy too heavy. And to rynedeansmith, tests have gotten M6 0-60 in 4.1 sec, but the Z06 has touched the M6 unfortunately. Oh well, those cars are sick either way.

Bone stock, the M6 is already $24,000 more expensive than the Corvette C6 Z06. Even with all of these mods, the BMW M6 STILL can't keep up with this badass. I'm sure the Corvette owner will be satisfied that he paid $40,000 less for a Corvette and he pulled on the M6 by 5 cars.

There are VERY few cars under 100,000 that can sniff 190 mph. The stock M6 is not going to beat a Z06 top end, and yes, I know this video does not show a stock M6, I'm pointing this out though because you seem to have a really f'ed up idea about what constitutes decent 'top end' speed. Name some cars under 100,000 that are going to top out the Z06, 150 mph to 190 mph. I'm really interested to know what stock cars can do that.

The Viper perhaps, not the M5. M5 is limited to 162 mph, and even if the car is modified to allow it to go to 203 (roughly top speed) it's not going to keep up with the Z06. You are talking about one hella heavy car there.

If you look at the lap times for the Nurburgring, a stock z06 pulls it off in 7 min 49 secs while a stock M6 takes 8 min 9 secs.
