  • What he's saying in that first excerpt, is that meaning itself transcends the word that is used to express it. The meaning must be deduced by using more than just the word, but also personal gestures used with it. With Merleau-Ponty it always reverts back to the basic concept of being-in-the-world. That is the main idea he took from Heidegger and that is what he is constantly improving upon. Meaning is already constituted for us within our world, and it is up to us as the subject to express it.

  • Sports and philosophy. Crying good idea.

    Used to run track and the track was a pure unprobablamatic space which is the function of bodily experience. Mind extends out.
