And I am guessing the other hoofed animals are intelligent too. - Diamond dogs have paws, and therefore have no thumb and index fingers to pinch with. Dragons are the only one with fingers, and if you look at the size of the dragons claws, those cupcakes are going to be salty as hell.

Minotaurs have fingers. They were just introduced but that doesn't mean the concept can't have come from them. Also, pinching is the act of gripping between the effective finger and thumb. Talons, paws, etc. will work. Either way, it's a pointless argument as there are many words they use in this show, such as bullet, which don't really have a connection to equestria.
