  • Great video.

  • Thanks for this Ms. Rachael for this lecture. But I have to say the background music is too loud and detracts from the wonderful talk.

  • @LaChichinitza Agree - can't hear dialog.

  • inspiring

  • The music is too loud for the narration.

  • Yeah!

Revolution of the media made it possible to be your own producer, performer, label boss AND distributor!

It's really nice to know that this method of content distribution significantly reduces the danger of labels screwing over artists *hint* *hint*

  • The only thing i'll agree with in that statement is that it's nice that the labels can't screw over artist's.

  • Well technically they still can, but the risks are let's say more transparent.

And to back up my previous statement: check out netlabels, they are internet based labels which often bring out music licensed under Common Creatives and usually distribute it for free.

In my perspective, especially these days that's a big dedication :)

  • @AppA ;-) Larry Sherman anyone?

  • The playing field shouldn't be level, the talent should rise to the top! Who wants easy thats lazy, so what your saying is any goof can make a track, and i think thats a shame and why everythings become so watered down and most of the music being created now sucks, it can't even touch the tracks of the past!!!

  • @housemanchi I side with youmanchi ;)

  • Sorry rachael i don't wanna do things anyone can do, i want to do things most people can't!!! 9 out of 10 dj's today are phony!!! The oldschool dj's are the true masters, back then it took true talent! Vinyl is where it's at!!! Oldschool djing is a true art! and all this computer djing crap is ruining it! Most of the stuff being produced today is absolute la la commercial Junk, and i wouldn't buy that crap!!!

  • amen to that! i may be too old school for my own good but i still spin the real shit. trax had a (deserved) reputation for very poor pressing quality but to me that was part of the charm of working with them. i would not want to listen to real acid on mp3, vinyl sales are on the rise!!

    peace,

    steve stoll
