Awesome whip! Reynolds 531 was the shit, I had a Raleigh Birmingham (handmade) with 531 and I still consider it to be one of the most comfortable bikes I ever owned (next to my Moots Ti of course...)
You should get some nice Honjo hammertone fenders, that would really look nice on your bike.
Sure, the first poster is a knucklehead, but your dig on the US bike mind set is completely mindless as well. Where most of the great European makes are either gone or carbon, the US is seeing a renaissance of custom lugged steel builders. Check out the North American Handmade Bike Show site for proof. Campy itself is going all carbon pretty much up and down its line and now has the silly 11 gear fw too. On the other hand, look at the beautiful steel from White Ind.
i cant believe that the group of your bicycle is campagnolo, carbon campagnolo record... and youre riding with a lamp attached to it... and a basket behind... for the apples??? who are you heidi?? it could be a pretty nice bicycle but i guess you use it to go picking blueberries at night... have some self respect. and respect your campy group
Hi Mate, Nice bike, lovely! I have a couple of 8yr old Super Vincitores, one 531C and one 531ST, not in as good a nick as yours though (must get a respray).
Old school? - not sure what that means, if it means embodying the skill and experience of generations of seasoned riders and bike builders while at the same time being wise enough to embrace new technologies, if appropriate, then sign me up for the old skool too. Though there's alsways a space for a carbon trike recumbent in my collection!!
Nice bikes Mercians; really nice! I own a Professional (Ultegra 10) and a track frame (fixed gear used on the road, 42x16) -- both are fast and lovely!
I own a Mercian king - brilliant tourer.

Fixed gear.........it's 19th century technology that still can't be beaten even today.
