Baggio is waaaay better than Van Basten. Van Basten had the support of Guillit,Rjaard(?),Kooman etc Baggio was pretty much a 1 man show. Baggio was not a 100% fit in 94,but he took Italy 2 the final. Italy did very well @ all 3 World Cups Baggio played in,they just had bad luck by loosing on penalties in all 3 tournaments. Van Basten choked in his only appearance in the World Cup in 1990 when he had the support of the players i mentioned. Baggio>>Van Basten
I remember these days... when Italian football had something special. All it has now is a lack of world class stars, corruption, hooligans and empty stadiums. So sad.
roberto baggio is the most beautiful player i have ever watched. a poet. a man for the moment. remember that goal against juve from a pirlo ball, rolls it by van der sar slots it. i remember watching it live on rai tv from aus and as the goal was announced the studio started cheering! thanks for the great vid. thanks roby
@yosoygigi The master taught the apprentice, who now is these days a master in his own right! However I wished Zola and Baggio played more together for the Azzurri... They would have been unbeatable!

I wish I was born earlier. Nowadays the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney are called great footballers when they're really nothing more than great sprinters. After Del Piero and Totti retire, fantasia will be gone from the game... but that's modern football. More about running and strength than about skill or intelligence. The only young player fit to lick Baggio's dirtiest boots in the modern game is Lionel Messi.
That goal on 1:22 vs Lazio, is one of the best goals of all time. Incredible control, feints, on a terrible pitch. In my opinion he was incredibly underrated and under appreciated by the defensive minded Italian coaches of his era. People must not forget his horrific knee injury which he sustained as a teenager-235 internal stiches, making his leg shorter, and having to play through the pain barrier for the remainder of his career.
To me, it is incredible to think that Paolo Maldini (the greatest Italian defensive player ever) and Roberto Baggio (greatest Italian offensive player) have never won a title with Italy.
It havent and will never ever exist an spanish player with the quality of roberto baggio, even if they are the world champions for now, xavi iniesta and villa are kind of good but it is imposible to compare with the great codino baggio... the greatest players in history in this order MARADONA, PELE, ZIDANE, BAGGIO
Great video, but good lord, how could you ruin it with Linkin Park. Baggio and Linkin Park go together like Pasta and Cod Liver Oil, cmon man, the vocals are awful.
@robertobhro don't listen mate this song is the song of 2001 just because he doesnt like it probs would prefer a large black man singing about how many women he's fukd or how big his tyres are on his car
@vidlivs not only that but the lyrics, roberto baggio tried hard got far and it did matter, plus linkin park suck. first song was a great choice though.
@vidlivs Roberto Baggio and Milan go together like pasta and shrimps.....and beautiful italian women....and Ferraris.....and Ducati with Pumas on......
@MrCeej9999 Phewww, what an IDIOTIC comment. The best player in the team carries the team and scores big goals and that makes the team awful. I guess Spain was awful in SA2010 because David Villa virtually scored all their goals, and Holland were awful because Sneijder scored most of their goals. lol he is god of soccer ?? if he really can do all this stuff then why cant he score the final PENALTY in the world cup???? making him so good? lol he is just a good dribbler thts all his passing is at a very low rate lol its really a shame how could he miss tht penalty maybe he was just acting too good lol :P
@MrGaucho1010 Get the fuck out with your garbage you stupid mofo, Robbie was THE premier striker during the 1990-95 era and stretch his carrier through a decade of competitiveness when powerful players like Ronaldo, Zidane, Romario, Bebeto, Beckham and Figo amongst others were on their prime and remained a vivid world class player until 2000, he was able to put an entire team on his shoulders during the 1994 World Cup, a majestic divinity only very few have done it, (e.g., Zizou, Diego)
@MrGaucho1010 Take a look at the '98 CPL Inter. v. Real Madrid vid. Madrid was virtually one of the bosses during 97 - 03, It was technically the barcelona of that period, watch how Baggio destroys Madrid's defense, and this towards the end of his career at the top flight.
Since I can't copy paste for some reason, Type on the search bar "Roberto Baggio Real Madrid" It is the video with the most views at the top of the screen.
@MrGaucho1010 baggio carried an entire team on his back, playing injured. he wouldnt have been allowed to take a penalty during a league match, but he was just that important to the italian team. we've seen that sometimes the magic just runs out, but to question baggio's brilliance is simply ABSURD SIR
What a fantastic player. I hate Trappatoni for blocking him from playing for the Azzurri while he was top scorer in Serie A. That decision cost Italy dearly and took away Baggio's last chance at playing for his country one more time.
no other italian player since Baggio has been able to capture the fans' imagination like he did. Del Piero and Cassano are too inconsistent when they play for italy, Totti is a shameless cheat, Pirlo is great but not inspiring to watch, none of them have the combination of grace, skill and goalscoring prowess that makes Baggio italy's perfect no. 10.
@Blinkadams yes there's no disputing their talents and achievements. it's just that del piero always disappears in international games and totti does not score as many great goals and influence the big games as baggio did
Watching him playing was something like: doesn't matter which team's gonna win, let's see what Baggio can do today ... With or without injuries, the strongest talent of all time. Italians felt much more Italians those days ...

ital1898 obviously your from italy. i think all u italians just wish maradona was from italy use lick his ass man but any way baggio hell of a player.
we really don't give a shit whether Maradona is Argentinian (aside from his obvious Italian origin...). We played 4 WC finals and won 4. Argentina since 1986 has done nothing. So, you can lick our ass instead.
yes, it's amazing. Maradona or Cassano today (not camparing the 2, just somewhat similar dribbling style) always seemed to be losing it and instead made it through at the very last second, and because of his short and chunky body, he always seemed not in control, although we know he was, since he did it over and over and over for 20 years. But Baggio seemed to know exactly what and when and how it would happen, he barely seemed to touch the ball to stop it or change direction. He was flawless
yeah i admire players that dont have pass but have amazing tecnique just like baggio zidane and ibrahimovic. not like ronaldo and messi they have it easy for them.
he is maybe one of the 5 best players of the whole history maybe he didn't win too much cups or a WCup but he was all technique allfantasie italy 90 he was still young if he was 4 year older italy would've won that cup with a more grown baggio

Io non sono un fan di Cesare Cremonini, però è vero che da quando Baggio non gioca più non è più domenica.

ital1898 obviously your from italy. i think all u italians just wish maradona was from italy use lick his ass man but any way baggio hell of a player.

we really don't give a shit whether Maradona is Argentinian (aside from his obvious Italian origin...). We played 4 WC finals and won 4. Argentina since 1986 has done nothing. So, you can lick our ass instead.

His dribbling is very precise.

yes, it's amazing.
