James is a lot better lead player than anyone gives him credit for. A lot of people base their "best guitarist" arguments on speed and technical ability. The most important thing for any musician to possess is good songwriting skills. If you can shred like a beast, someone will listen for a few minutes. A million other people can shred just as good or better. If you can write good songs, someone will listen until you're finished playing. That is why James is one of, if not the best in metal
