The second part also plays during the 'Jungle Cruise' episode where Batou is chasing down the serial killer because he's so hell-bent on dealing with the monster since he has such a personal history with the guy.
Both that scene and the one during the later Complex episode put chills down my spine. This track seals the deal.
I love, LOVE, how the two parts of this song seem so different at first, but then really completely complement each other - this is some powerful music
I wonder does this man realize how awesome his voice was! I've heard some male singers before but he shakes me down to my soul! And I love how he and Origa's voices meld together in "inner universe"! Just amazing. Simply amazing!
Release dates don't mean anything. Both of them could have made those songs years in advance and just happen to find the right time to use them, like most musicians do. Both are good and that is all that matters.
Sick song, it's a shame he added that beat to it though. Does anyone know where I ca find the acoustic guitar song at the end of jungle cruise or at least give me it's name?
@gasdfw5 episode 21 the assassination of dr. imakaruse by the narcotic suppression squad members using a JMSDF Arm Suit and thermo-optic camo ... Motoko got her arm blown off by it's 20mm auto rifle/grenade launcher then got tossed around like a rag doll followed by almost having her head crushed after it curb stomped her into the ground. You would be a little pissed off too you know.... if that happened. make sure to listen to the awesome music in the background
the songs are a little similar, but the tempos are completely different, as are the number of number of sound layers, not to mention the fact that master armstrong's sound is based on balance rather than harmony, its actually one of his defining traits . Also being a huge fan of Craig Armstrong, I can tell you that this song indeed did not come out after Ruthless Gravity, but actually almost a year before; S.A.C. is from early 2002 and ruthless gravity was released december 2002...

@YousakaTakahashi your a moron. As If Nothing(the album which Ruthless Gravity was on) was released April '02. SAC aired Nov '02. Get your facts straight. Why is it so hard for Kanno fans to accept the fact that she steals other peoples music without giving them there deserved credit?
Yes, I inverted the Dates. Maybe It's hard to accept because to people who actually have an inkling of understanding of musical theory, as opposed to people who listen to songs once in a while, the songs are hardly even alike. It's like trying to frame Oasis for copying a French Jazz band because both bands have songs that start in B Minor and use the Golden Progression. And I've actually liked Armstrong much before I knew Yoko Kanno.
The latter half of the song makes me think of some kind of tragic, personal battle between two people. It was pretty badass when it played when Kusanagi was pissed at the NSS leader in the Arm Suit and she sealed him in the Arm Suit. Sent chills up my spine. Awesome track.
Actually, i do not like the first part of this song (singing part), but the rest is very cool. I like the slow increase of music effects... very nice sound...
yoko kanno is purely a genius love all her songs and origa for singing those wonderfully composed songs! i agree with sabrewolferos it gives me the chills everytime i listen 2 it 2 :P keep those uploads comin dude !
wow, when the song began the hairs on my body all stood up, and i looked behind me to see who sang and i realized that it was in my head phoe, really creepy yet at the same time elegant and beautiful

This scene of episode 21 of SAC is still one of the most moving scenes I have seen in anime, and the music complements it well.

interesting enough, this theme is used in the indie xbox live game Euthanasia intro, so this song is pretty popular

This is an extremely good example of a perfect mix between electronic and orchestral sounds. It really is a work of art from start to finish.

Hmm yeah there are a lot of similitude.
And it's funny, cause i when i listened to your link, i thought "and that is a copy of "Kiss of the dragon OST". And oh, the same guy ^__^
But it's well known that Kanno "samples" a lot... But i still prefer Fish silent cruise, sounds better in my litle ears ;)
