IMAGINE. Imagine no commission unelected as they are no million regulations sent to us from afar imagine legislation made by those we know oh,oh,oh I know you may call me a dreamer but I am not the only one one day you will join us and Europe will be as one (..as a trading block, not as an imposed, artificial federal state with it's own army/parliament no-one was ever ASKED if they wanted ). Dont give the EU the legitimacy it craves.Don't vote. Say NO to the Lisbon treaty/constitution !
Hello from an Euroenthusiast in Romania. In our country the problem is that the parties are mostly confusing the domestic and European agenda, which is confusing many, BUT:we have the opportunity to get informed from the EP site and Europarl TV. Maybe the turnout will be low, but those who will vote will be well informed. Far from being "illegitimate", the EP is one the most democratic and transparent institutions. And since it is elected by direct vote,it can only be legitimate.
The EU parliament is voted by millions of EU citizens. I don't know what you mean by "don't have an opposition". Inside there's debate among political groups and national delegations. Outside, it negotiate with Council and Commission. All we decide here will come to your daily live: you're able to live in peace, to travel freely, to buy the best product at the best price, to work or study abroad, to receive medical treatment everywhere. So you'd better be part of the process.

Once again: Unelected Commision? The President of the Commision is elected by the national presidents (elected by the people), and the rest of the commisioners, are elected by national governments (elected) and accepted by the Parlament (elected).

I'm a non-native but I'm voting BNP. Only they will exit the EU, end immoral wars, and stem immigration. That's the only recipe which might save Europe from social and political chaos.

1.Today 75% of `national´ law originates from an un-elected commission in Brussels.
2.When the infamous Lisbon Treaty/Constitution is in effect this will become 99.9% of law based on a `treaty´ that the French,Dutch and Irish have already VOTED AGAINST and Germany,Austria and the UK would VOTE AGAINST if `allowed ´ the opportunity
by Brussels !
3.The Treaty/Constitution is `self-amending ´ which means it can be changed at will WITHOUT consulting national governments !
when there is no coverage of government decisions, u call it a dictatorship that conceals information from you. When they give you information, u say its a waste of money.
Don't let us alone with the Italian members of the european parliament! Do some research, make them tough questions.
Sadly we have the highest level of political corruption in Europe. Go to them, discover their dirty secrets, help me send them back home if they are proven to be less than honest and incompetent!

The EU parliament is not legitimate.
No-one was asked if they wanted it.
It does not have an opposition.
Proposed legislation doesn't originate in the parliament but from an un-elected commission.
The system of voting rights is un-democratic.
The parliament does not have citizens/voters of it's own but has to borrow them from nation states.
Brussels is DEAF to the opinions of Europeans on big issues like the Lisbon Treaty or enlargement .
Their salaries are bloated and corruption is rife.

Wow, that press control unit looks expensive, hope you make good use of it, it cost me an awful lot of sweat and labour to pay for it!
But what the hey! I'll feed the kids tomorrow.
It'll be great for spoon-feeding the REPORTERS, but where do the real journalists go?
