2:42 to 2:49 ..... your coda , jackie , your coda ...... if I were in prison , I would listen to it , 38 times per a day , and all would just be just fine ...........
She is young , she is beautiful , she is extatic , she brings truth in what she plays , she is unforgettable , what she plays stays in our memory for eternity ! What else ...........?
Amazing, some have too much... talent, looks, energy and start to develop these skills early. These were such two. I cant help thinking that all those tics and overwrought physical playing gestures did not play a part in the onset of her illness. We need extreme talent but you wonder if it was good for her.
jaqu . du pré plays brahms just like a woodstock girl would do it ... that's is so natural , so fresh , so sexy ... and it is really brahms !! much more brahmsian than any "conservatoire" performing with the dirty frustrated students who tries to be genious when they are only neurotic . Here the Brahms in love (with clara) is really in full love , also neurotic , but not insane . Thanks JDPRE.
oh my god ..... such a beauty and this explosive genious of j du pré made me sad for my whole day ... and more , because her brahms is just burning my heart out ......
There is a recording of her playing the first movement. Go to the Jacqueline du Pre website and there is a link there where you can listen.Jackie lives forever!
Informal describes her to a 'T'. So sad that she has left us, but sooooooo good that we have clever people who can upload these treasures for our enjoyment, Well done everybody and thank you FlashHarry621.
Barenboim, without doubt is a musician who will be talked of and admired for centuries to come. However, du Pre has that something extra. Music just pours out of her and as has been said of her many times by colleagues and critics, she seems to have been sent into the World ' ready made'. Unforgettable artist!
This might appear an inappropriate comment (and certainly embarrassing for Barenboim) but Jaqueline's pianistic style and expression (though amateurish) is superior to his.
@lourak how is her expression amateurish? It is very "sprightly" though I find it to be appropriate to a professional pianist if she were a bit more serious towards the end... but I don't understand your comment. Also, anyone know what she was playing in the beginning? Very charming stuff.
@sal198500 You know what? - I listened again, and....welll - it's quite good actually, though a bit affected with a tad too many mannerisms for my taste in classical style. A few more listenings, and who knows...
Jackie does not play the music...she BECOMES the music! And she was just so fun and natural! Miss you Smiley...so much! <3

Playing – somewhere still playing.
I can hear you in the rain
A never-ending inspiration
A whisper in the corn – still playing.
