  • His completely slick, hairless head is such a contrast to his immensely hairy arms.

  • what strings he use?

  • The robot devil needs to switch Joe's hands with mine... or give me a copy...

  • you should see tim halcomb play blues :-)

  • AH, TOO.. MUCH.. CHROME..

  • Shave your nappy arms!!

  • I don't understand the need for him to use delay

  • is that guitar chrome dipped?

  • @AwWDesignZ No, it's black, but if it was I would've loved!

  • @AwWDesignZ yes it is

  • Joe still looks 35!

  • he makes me want to pick up my guitar and play, but then I suck

  • @roizryan9 shut up and play yer guitar :)

  • He didn't lost his hair, they just move to his arms!

  • at the end of the day, who actually listens to this shit? i bought surfing with the alien when i was 12 and just learning the guitar. promptly binned it when i discovered it was for wankers. the title track is a classic, the rest is nonsense. its not music, theres no tune's its not even technically that good. liking satriani is like fucking the fat ugly bird when venus herself also up for it. why would you do it?! so many better guitarists out there. he just happens to still have a limelight.

  • @bazbonehead It's all subjective and I am sure you know that But yeah I can think of technically more proficient players as well etc... But Satch has a very tastey style that a lot of us like. He combines a little bit of everything from rock, blues, jazz, classical, and then throws in some catchy melodies. To each their own. You mean you didn't like Echo? Man that song is so sweet. Check out Rubina live on Time Machine album....chills!

  • @themusicman777 i know, to each their own and all that. but my problem is the with the amount of success he has had for not being terribly good. there are so many better guitarists in every sense, subjective or not: guitarists that are faster, that have better tone, that can actually write a tune with lyrics and the ability to appeal to a wide audience, that dont just write pointless instrumentals. Paul Gilbert in Mr. Big. Steve Vai in Whitesnake and DLR. Satriani? taught a few players. no more

  • @bazbonehead Welll there is a market for basically anything out there. A lot of people like this instrumental stuff you talk about. Some people do not like it. But the thing about Satch is...he keeps it simple but adds just enough spice to make it interesting to those of us who do dig this type of genre. I too agree with you on the guitarists you named. Steve Vai is my fave guitarist of all time but variety is good. Therefore there is room for Satch, Vai, and Gilbert.

  • @themusicman777 So in the end you do not have to like Satch and we do not have to Not like Satch. We both win ;)

  • WTF is he jabbering on about. 'expression' this, 'pre-quantized idea' that? I as a muscian DO NOT play to express myself, to be creative or play something new. no. i like every guitarist who doesn't have his head up his ass like satch, just want to sound awesome. i dont want to play some 12th century dorian scale, juxtaposed against an subcontinent backdropping. i just want to thrash out overdriven power chords cause the sound AWESOME. end of. enough of this musical theory masturbation.

  • @bazbonehead what's wrong with playing Dorian? If it ain't broke, why fix it? Satch music, not technically good? Maybe you are not hearing the picking dynamics and bends clear enough, or you haven't tried to really play his music close enough. I really want to hear you play cryin so you could compare how gret Joe's music is... I also once thought that Satch's music is not good, but when I tried to play them, my eyes and ears were opened.

  • @bazbonehead yeah i agree with you dude. I was trying to listen to what he was saying in this video and it was all just complete bollocks. Just play god damn it. The blues is supposed to very relaxed and natural so why does he feel the need to blabber on about technique and theory? He's defeating the whole blues idea. I think he has spent too much time applying artificial feeling and emotions into his playing. If it was real emotion he wouldn't feel the need to tlak about it. Peace

  • His arms are so hairy O_O

  • @zerthor First he's Italian. Second, they really aren't that bad. I've seen much worse.

  • i was wonder what was under those hats...

  • I could do that, then I took an arrow to the knee...

  • Guitar mage

  • I have that peavey boxon his top shelf

  • he be flippin them amps

  • Haha, am I the only one who has noticed that for the most part all the talented guitarists/ big metalcore style bands ALL play Ibanez guitars? I play one as well, and in my opinion the only guitar that would come close to how amazing a shitty little Ibanez gio plays would probably be a Schecter C-1 hellraiser, and it still isn't a very close second.

  • da man is in his 50s, role model fo sho

  • Thumbs up if you are tired of people saying he looks like Voldemort.

  • ... shiny

  • since when does voldermort have a nose?

  • He seems like dr evil in austin powers!

  • obviously,it is voldemort who happens to look like joe satriani

  • we're lucky to have youtube as a resource to bring all these players' techniques

to our attention. Such valuable insight and wisdom from the man...

  • I found that paul gilberts description of guitar parts that play within the melody and outside the melody, like, blues solo, and shred was very interesting. . ..

  • Satchemort!

  • dont talk PLAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

  • He IS Voldemort!!!!

  • okay, im 20 years old now, and this guy has probably put more hours into the guitar than i have been alive!!!! What an awesome player!

  • I first started listening to Satch at 14 - he had hair then. I am now 35.

  • @theglasgowinventor - ya gotta love the way he poked fun @ himself in the 'I Just Wanna Rock' video. he knows he's bald. may bother him, may not...but he has plenty of hats. he'll be fine :)

  • @NolitaDenise I remember meeting him outside the Playhouse in Edinburgh when I was 15 or so. Awesome.

  • @theglasgowinventor - lucky :)...he seems so calm and so down to earth. had it been another master...idk very lucky it was him.

  • Rumour has it he borrowed God's hands and forgot to return them... :)

  • cool cool cool

  • amazing. anyone else think he looks like voldemort though?

  • @tehtimster I agree with you.He is the one who cannot be named.

  • @tehtimster why do you think hes so good

  • @tehtimster Actually, u should check wikipedia. Joe Satriani was offered the role of Voldemort in Harry Potter, but he was declined at the end, because he demanded too much monkey

  • @kakkashin *money lol

  • @tehtimster he's bald and skinny. woooo so special

  • @tehtimster

    No, Voldemort looks like him.

  • @tehtimster ...BALDEMORT

  • is that andy aledort interviewing him?

  • He makes this shit look too easy.

  • @MOPEDBRAD Ya and let me tell you so does Angus Young. Guy has fingers made out of steel i swear

  • @MOPEDBRAD Because if you practice, it really is...

  • @MOPEDBRAD for him, it is.

  • oh mu god he doesnt look 50 plus yrs old

  • I love how he is so personable, he's not like 'oh I'm 55 and I can shred' he's more of a 'i was inspired by this, so I did this... And here's how I do it' it's so awesome, he's my hero

  • Why the hell think that Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Paul Gilbert are the same guys. When i see Satriani, i think of Vai, when i do that, i get Gilbert in my head...

  • i met him in London guitar show :) just to get a signature ;)

  • He looks like Voldemort..

  • @DanskeSange

In the beginning was Joe Satriani. Then was Lord Voldemort. Do not underestimate the power of both or they will have no mercy for you !

Conclusion: It's Voldemort who's looking like Joe, NOT vice versa!

    ;D

  • @Piotrelek123 Arh, i see.. Nice !!

  • ill die for his guitar!

  • He Who Shall Not Be Named
