  • My two favourite McCoy stories are paradise towers and remembrance of the daleks

  • thats nothing like the mccoy opening scene. wheres the trdis in the buble, wheres mccoy

  • @thestigmister Check the title. it's supposed to be the CLOSING

  • @TARDISFanMan oh didnt realise that. thanks for telling me 100 years later(!)

  • i love this one

  • Wasn't sure what to think of this version at first, but it really grows on you.

  • R.I.P Oliver Elmes, the chap who designed this title.

  • Just(ice) - a little while longer and I will be gone - Shame to those who refused to grant me FULL AND COMPLETE DISCLOSURE. They will rot in the harvest of manual labor and you will hate them too. Because of them you had to suffer when I could have brought you peace and knowledge. Until eons hence - bye bye.

  • the "tissues" are actually scrunched up scripts LOL

  • @statetheobv so THAT'S what happened to Season 27! XD

  • love this theme especially @ 55 seconds

  • i always will have a soft spot for mccoy no matter what

  • I suppose this theme isn't for everybody. But I love it. Sylvester mcCoy was great, but not as great as tom baker

  • @garceaj who is?

  • P.S. This theme is awesome! way better than the theme they have today. These themes were originally meant to make little kids wet their pants, but most of the newer themes sound like something from a Disney special. my favorite is paul mcgann and colin baker's theme from trial of a time lord.

  • Break out the Kazoos

  • seriously what the hell is with the tissue???

  • @Deefultz i think someone littered in space

  • OMG! Flying tissues!

  • OMG! Flying tissues!

  • i like the extended bit when the tardis comes in to the titles

  • 7th doctor = legend! i watched remeberence of the daleks the other day and i love it! i cant wait for my 7th doctor and dalek set to arrive

  • i love evrything about this doctor!!!! His clothes He was funny He had a brill title and many more things i could go on all day!!!!

  • sylvester was remarkably good doctor! i was just some lousy scripts during his era...BUT we shall never forget the doctors "flare", e.g the 2nd doctors fur coat, the 3rd doctors car and the 4th doctors scarf ect....

Sylvesters flare of the top of my head are:

    -Question mark unbrealla handle

-Question mark tank top (not as bad as the 6th doctors coat)

    -checkered scarf

    -the funny hat!

-also ace had the big jacket with all the badges

  • @ThisBritGuy he did get some good ones to like the greatest show in the galaxy and battlefield

  • @Mst3kfanatic1 *smacks mst3kfanatic* HOW DARE YOU NOT MENTION REMEMBRANCE OF THE DALEKS!!

  • @infernai i didnt like that one as much greatest show in the galaxy was his best, and what the fuck is your problem.

  • @Mst3kfanatic1 I'm a fanboy, that's my problem! xD

  • @infernai same here but i still prefer certain episodes over others greatest show was his best imo. and i like tom baker the best.

  • I keep wondering if a typewriter is going to come swirling past with all those scrinched up A4 sheets. Actually as a kid I imagined them to be rocks of ice but what did I know!

  • I'm curious: where did you get this?

  • It's on the Curse of Fenric DVD as an extra

  • What? where's the earwax?

  • those pieces that fly past the screen

  • Brings back a horde of memories, none of them especially good.

  • it looks so much betta witout th names and that getting in th way

  • this is a great theme but its not the closing. he closing has all the names of the characters!!!!!

  • Hence 'Clean' - which means the credits are not there. This IS the closing.

  • it is the CLEAN closing titles, meaning it doesnt have the names on...thought that spoke for itself

  • i love the theme

  • Who did this creapy mix? Jeff someone wern't it?

  • It was Keff McColluch actually.

  • i need help. when i try to put a video from u tube to windows movie maker, it says:

The file C:\Users\User\Pictures\Doctor Who - Clean Sylvester McCoy Closing (1987).URL cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

  • Go to media converter and actually DOWNLOAD the video. your just trying to put a link to this page into WMM

  • Youtube downloader, then convert it to wmv

  • thats cool. Can I PLEASE use it in one of my movies?! It's 'doctor poo episode 2' I'll sub if you let me use it!

P.S It's one of my favorite tunes

  • errr, Why?

  • It's just the bloody credits! Not a whole episode. CHILL!

  • Bahaha, good luck with that.

  • LOL they won't do anything. There are literally hundreds of people on YT who have uploaded the theme tune/titles, so okay then.

  • HAHA

  • Great! This music gives a brilliant atmosphere to the cliffhangers.

  • Considering that these graphics are 21 years old they are fantastic. Remember that this was the era of the intel 286/386 not a very powerful chip. It must of taken a few computers running in parallel to create this.

  • for me in my early 20s now, this brings back alot of memories of me being 4 or 5 and very scared lol

  • I'm 24 and I remember getting both scared and excited towards the end of Terry Wogan's show, because doctor who was next!

  • This is the doctor who I knw and loved :) Hearing this arrangement and seeing the graphics takes me back to the good old days of childhood :)

  • Not the greatest of themes. Seems like they tried to do too much, like they tried to combine past themes all into one. The graphics work on it is very good, but the high pitched synthesizers just hurt more than anything. Was this even a good doctor? I haven't seen anything past Peter Davison yet.

  • Slyvester McCoy was a very good Doctor. Much more edgy, some how darker than the others. As a point of reference, he's probably closer to the Doctor as he was originally played by William Hartnell.

  • Really... because Hartnell is one of my favorite docs because of his multiple imperfections and almost devious ways. I didn't get that from the episode I saw him in so far (The Revelation of the Daleks I believe it was).

  • dvandam

McCoy did Rememberance of the Daleks NOT Revelation. I suggest you check out Curse of Fenric, Survival also. Ghost Light is considered McCoys best episode by most, although it is a very layered story that does need multiple vewings to appreciate. All the Episodes I mentioned are on DVD. McCoys only ones on DVD to this point.

  • @KatKlingon And delta!

  • thats what McCoy was going for, He thought the doctor should be wiser and more dark for all he's lost

  • he was Dark and mysterious

  • this music is brill

  • Are the first few moments of the theme music here the same as the first few moments of the theme music on the opening titles? It sounds like it!

  • look on cat on toilet lol

  • Graphically, this title sequence (or in this case, closing credits) is the best ever! Why aren't the graphics this good on any other version of the titles to date?

  • Because the McCoy titles were the first to be computer generated entirely.

  • I've heard that the 'asteroids' in the visuals are just scrunched-up bits of paper. This can't be true, can it?

  • no bcause its all cgi

  • @stevenw1222drwho Moron -_-

  • Best version of the theme ever! Even better than the current one!!!

  • I concur! This truly is a great theme! Looks like great minds truly do think alike!

    PS This theme sucks.

  • Agreed. Keff's theme was horrible, as were all of his incidental music "contributions."

  • the titles are very good too. The technology may have moved on, but the imagination has gone!!!

  • @timelord726 Just wondering, who is this Keff?

  • @PowerofThreeSpell

Keff McCoulhch, (I spelt his last name wrong) he was the composer of the Doctor Who Music from 1987-1989

  • @WeLoveKeff I though it was ok.

  • @AidanLunn Why thank you Aidan, I'll tell my dad (Oliver Elmes) as he did the graphics to this version.

  • @RedWine2go What did he use to do the graphics. It's quite impressive considering the limitations of hardware in the mid-eighties

  • @AidanLunn Anything's better than the current one. They fucking killed it.

  • @AidanLunn Not to say that this one isn't good, I actually like it now a lot more than I did.

  • There's a slight difference in the end credits - the star explosion has no "burst" ound effect in this one as id did in earlier or later versions (not ure which, earlier or later).

  • You're correct. I dubbed my CD closing theme over the titles because it was higher quality -- however it lacks a few of the sound cues designed to go with the title graphics.
